I'm waiting. The next generation should be coming out in October. In general, newer generations models are a step above the performance for each model than the previous series. So I'm expecting a 7700 will give around 6800 performance, but at a step down in price for MSRP. You never know until Lauch, but that's my expectation.

Yes. In addition, there should be more features and performance optimizations for video and graphic technologies such as Vulkan, OpenGL, video decoding, etc...
Anyone have a feeling the new card launches will be pushed back due to excess inventory, production delays, financial problems, and covid/monkeypox? I've read rumors of next year for release which makes sense.

I think it will be. It wouldn't make financial sense with the market at the moment, unless crypto makes a huge bounce back.
It wouldn't surprise me at all. Latest speculation is that CPU and GPU refreshes might be elongated- flagship models might launch per original schedule but the second and third tier skus will be pushed back closer to or into 23Q1
Man this generation of video cards got so messed up because of the mining. I bought an ASRock for $1100 from Micro Center like 6 months ago, now similar can be had for almost half the price.
I would definitely not grab this card if you don't need it immediately because Nvidia and AMD are going to be hit quite hard in pricing with this gen's fiasco as well as the incoming recession. The prices are going to be much lower for much better performance I'd wager so I wouldn't rush out and get this card even at this tempting price.

Got to wonder if there will even BE a market for discrete gpu whenever the mfg get around to actually shipping a product at a fair price let alone an unfair price... I'd keep my eye on cpu sales which have apu built in... expect those to go upward in the next 6mos to a year.

It is a 3-slot card.

It actually hasn't really kicked in. You'll know when you start seeing articles about companies laying off thousands of employees at a time.
