FYI Target will once again offer a free $10 Target gift card when you spend at least $100 on Apple gift cards. The deal will be valid in stores and on Target.com 7/31 thru 8/6 according to page 27 of the weekly ad preview:
https://weeklyad.target.com/promo...31&page=17 Ad indicates limit of 1 per guest, but YMMV in stores.
RedCard holders can save an additional $4.50. The discount is not equal to 5% ($5) because Target assigns a $10 charge to the "free" gift card and $90 for the remaining balance owed. Therefore RedCard 5% is based on $90 so the discount equals $4.50.
P.S. Apple has a limit of $2000 to be saved to your Apple Account Balance + an additional 8 gift cards during online checkout. An individual gift card can also not exceed $2000.
**UPDATE: This deal will extend for the week of 8/7 - 8/13 as well.**

This could allow you to purchase 1 online this week, and 1 again next week. No idea how Target's system will treat the deal.

So worst case scenario is that you can pay the education pricing minus $150 with your Apple account balance/redeemed GCs. This is because Apple takes off $150 off the hardware price, and adds the $150 GC during checkout.
