it says if your walmart store has it in stock, you can get it for $9 if you activate it on a $30 cricket plan. can we cancel the cricket service after 1 month so the phone ends up being $39 total?

If you wait few months more this will go on sale for $25 like motog play last yeàr. Nasty laggy performance no one should buy it which will take the price down faster.

I have had waaaaaaaaaay worse backup phones. I was skeptical too. I'm using one right now because I broke my last phone just needed something quick. 10x better phone than the Samsung 'A' series ATT/cricket sells for more $.
My Moto phone from Cricket was not able to unlock after 6 months, and their customer service gave me $5 statement credit instead. WTF, Cricket Wireless.
Anyone that is thinking about doing a Cricket family plan ...
We have been on a 5 line/$100 plan for some time now. They just gave us 30 days notice that the same plan was jumping to $135.
Anyway, we're switching everyone over to Mint. That same family plan (with the same 10GB limit) will go back to $100/month.
We have been on a similar plan (but only have 4 lines for $100 -- bad slickdealer (me) missed out on adding the 5th for free!), and I haven't seen any similar message from Cricket yet.
However, Mint's "family plan" is only $15/line for the lowest option (4GB/month), which should be adequate for our family. How is the service? Thanks.

We were given 30 days notice of the plan change. Not sure if they are doing everyone at once or just picking off groups at a time. My guess would be the latter. Might want to prepare though for what is probably an inevitable situation.
Mint has been fine. I have been using it for about 7 months now. The rest of the family just moved to it a few weeks ago. No complaints or service degradation from Cricket that we can tell. Of course, with all cell carriers, the experience is really dependent on location. Moreso with MVNOs.
Please don't buy cricket locked phone. I got moto one 5G from cricket ,I used cricket service for 6 months and try unlocking by cricket app, It didn't work.
Called customer care 10-15 times. Still waiting in my 8th month. They just want to hold customers without unlocking phone.
PLEASE KEEP AWAY FROM CRICKET LOCKED PHONES. BAD CUSTOMER CARE AND YOU WILL BE STUCK WITH A LOCKED PHONE!!!!!
