Might be better for tea. French press has too much soot.

I got a similar travel mug from starsucks and I never enjoyed using the French press feature so I threw away the plunger. The coffee didn't taste the same with grounds at the bottom.

Don't buy Bodum. Their product are cheaply made crap and support is non existent so they won't honor the warranty

I can't imagine who is making French press coffee while traveling. Are they bringing a grinder with them, too?

If you use this you'll be over extracting the coffee and cause bitterness. 4 minutes is considered the normal brewing time for French press. The Bodum French press that's for $13.50 and a Ozark double walled steel tumbler for $7 to $9. (22 oz to 30 oz) from Walmart will give you a better brew and traveling drinking vessel.

Gosh. How old is this model? Almost twenty years?

I remember this exact mold being rolled out over and over again in different colors and always being eventually clearanced out at retailers. Penney's had them for a few bucks last I saw it there. I grabbed the Starbucks version when it came out in the latter 2000s.

What it means is that you can always replace the parts cheaply, but yeah, the dregs make the coffee bitter unless you drink it fast.

I thought this idea was awesome but these over extract the coffee. Not a good product.

Just make your coffee 5 minutes earlier and pour it into a travel cup. Ozark Trail Tumblers are a cheap option though the lid isn't spill proof. The spill proof lid will pop up if things are steamy. Zojurishi or Stanley cups are way better.

I had this for a while and then gave it away. Lots of grounds get through.

I wish SD staff knew that a lower priced product just to get a referral payment isn't necessarily a good product to shuck onto users.

This works nicely to leave at the office if your workplace doesn't have a coffee maker (or if you prefer French press coffee).

I have this and I find it useful while traveling. It takes up less space when packing and it is it's own travel cup, which is nice. After I brew it, I just pour into something else, rinse the cup and pour it back in. Saves having to pack both a press and travel mug and the press itself takes up less space than a regular sized press.
