This monitor has been on sale on and off lately.
It is on sale on HP.COM again with the back to school sale.
Link To Monitor on HP.COM [hp.com]

Direct price is $424.99, with EPP discount it comes to $404.99, which matches the lowest price of previous deal.
There's a 10% off coupon SCHOOLHP10(doesn't stack with EPP though) for order over $1000. So if you buy THREE monitors the total price is $1160.97, or $386.99 per unit, plus tax.

This monitor is on par with LG UN880 from the recent FP deal. A side by side spec comparison [displaydb.com]. In short, U32 has high peak brightness and color depth, one more USB-A port and one less HDMI port, and missing speaker and ergo stand. The bottom bezel is thicker but other other 3 sides are thinner.
Specs:
  • Resolution: 3840x2160
  • Refresh Rate: 60Hz
  • Response Time: 4ms
  • Panel Type: IPS
  • DCI-P3 98% Color Gamut, sRGB 99%
  • Display Bit Depth: 10 bits (8 bits + FRC)
  • Screen Brightness: 400 cd/m²
  • VESA: 100x100mm
  • Viewing Angle: 178/178
  • Inputs:
    • 1 x HDMI 2.0
    • 1 x DisplayPort 1.2
    • 1 x USB (Type-C; Power Delivery ~65W; DP Alt Mode)
    • 3 x USB 3.0 (Type-A; downstream)
    • 1 x 3.5 mm Audio Out
  • HDMI, DP & USB Type-C Cables Included
THIS IS NOT A GAMING MONITOR, INSTEAD ITS VALUE IS IN AN IPS PANEL with display port, USB-C 65W power support, PIP support, USB HUB etc.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

And that feature alone would probably add a couple hundred to the price
At intriguing does this sound - I guess you have never tried it.
Much much worse experience of TV vs Monitor

Nice monitor. I had the 28 inch version. Very attractive design.

It does have an external brick, would have preferred built in.

That would cost 50% more or even doubled in price from top brand. Or get an OLED monitor with even bigger size:

60Hz is more than enough for daily work/streaming.

At this point I've got 2 32" LG QHDs I'm looking to replace my aging 24" with a nicer 32 like a Samsung Neo Odyssey

Or just buy any regular hdtv 4k tv with 120+hz and plug it in to use as a monitor. Pretty much any tv with a hdmi can be used as one.

(In fact, you do realize hdtv and pc monitor panels are often made by the same Chinese companies in the same production plants....)

Benefit is you get access to much larger 4k displays at a cheaper cost, and at the upper end, oled displays.

I'm running hdtvs here for years with No issues.
My friend and I are saving up for the latest lg oleds even. Nothing pc monitor side can touch their performance and size.

Surprised this isn't getting more thumbs up. I haven't been able to find anything better at this price point.

Because you have to be a HP employee if I'm not mistaken.

It is a decent price, but you can occasionally find 32" IPS 4K Monitors around 300$ what you lose out on is USB C hub and a slightly better panel quality (e.g. HDR 400). I have a 28" version for a while now and it really is a nice monitor and this is a decent price for it.

For gaming or casual use TVs as monitors are fine. For people that work all day in front of their monitors they don't cut it.

It only requires a code when you register. Nothing to do with HP employee discount.
If you search HP EPP on Google, the second result from DC Gov would give you the code that works flawlessly.
