This late in the game, it should be closer to $300 for x70 cards. I'm tired of stans giving Nvidia (and AMD by extension) a free pass to arbitrarily jack up prices to levels vastly outpacing inflation.

While this is one of the best deals on a quality RTX 3070 yet, prices for 3000 series cards have nowhere to go but down. Nvidia has a ton of stock lying around. I think we'll see the 3070s under $400 in a couple of months. Plus, the market will have a lot more used 3000 cards available. IMHO, $400 is a strong but price for the 3070, and I'm in no hurry.

Yes it absolutely is. The general consensus is that it takes a 3080 or 6800 xt at minimum to get an equal or better experience then the new consoles.

Just Google it, there are several sources that say the same thing.

And why would they sell at a loss when they could obviously charge more with all the scalpers running wild.

TSMC will not let Nvidia out of their contract, which means that a ton of 4000 series cards are coming whether Nvidia wants them to or not.

look at the other games he listed, hes probably talking about the first tomb raider remake

people like him get a 3000 series card and only play league then complain about how it wasnt much of an upgrade from their 10 series card

SHEER RAW POWER, No, the consoles aren't close to a 3080 in terms of raw power. They might have an edge in optimization probably due to dev priority, but when you run PS5 or XBX at native 4k with Ray Tracing, you're capped off at 30 fps, at least with forbidden West (Ps5). A 3080 with Dlss quality and tay tracing can do 4k and maybe 90 fps ultra. No console today is close to the raw power of a 3080.

Yessir 3080 beats it especially in ray tracing. But it chomps at it's heels in every other metric and 3080 is the first tier that is an undisputed better experience, by a small margin in some areas and larger margin in others.

It's a disservice to the
PC community to not be honest about this or how much value these new consoles bring to the table currently at thier price point. They are not really consoles these days, just PCs with restrictive custom OS. Even supports keyboard and mouse in almost all games.

It's a good thing for us, lowest common denominator and all that.

Since I started playing my PS5, I am mainly playing forbidden West on PS5 and Madden 22 sometimes on my xbx. I haven't played on my pc in a while. Gaming on a 48 inch c1.
