Looking at the brushless hammer drill kit. You get 2 batteries, charger and case for 155 after the hack. It's not the fuel version but deal seems better I would think with the extra 2 5.0 batteries for a little more?
Ability to work with lower torque ratings (my gen 3 will strip/over tighten delicate screws even on the lowest clutch setting)
Man, I wonder how tradesmen have been getting by for the last 50+ years... Milwaukee will get people to rebuy tools every single year. I'm going to wait for the Fuel Surge Diesel HD extreme version.

No more so they added an eclutch because it allowed them to be more powerful but had to compromise by losing control on the low end, so now they're deciding low end control is more important than highest torque numbers possible. Not saying it's worth tossing your old tool, just pointing out the compromises (of which every tool has)
I can't seem to figure out how to make it work, but on the hammer drill product page ($199),[homedepot.com] the promotion is mentioned. However, you cannot "select a free tool" as you can with the saw. If someone can figure it out, you could add a free drill and get both for $100 each. When I add 2 to the cart, it simply keeps the price at $199 for each though.
It could be that these types of promotion links/indications simply mean that the tool you are viewing is a promotional item if added with another item (but the required item isn't listed anywhere, in this case, the saw).
FWIW, I also tried to add the battery and the wrench with no luck on seeing the discount.

The promotion is:
"Purchase Select M18 FUEL Bare Tool & Receive A Free Bare Tool Or Battery"
The drill you linked to, item #320326855, is one of the free options. It is not one of the select bare tools that needs to be purchased to get a free item. The saw linked by the OP is.

I'm not as concerned with the power if it matches gen 3. The mechanical clutch and autostop are the improvements I'm interested in.
