Just here reporting deals to the community and not making dreams come true 🤷
Mario Kart 8 technically came out in 2014 but it ended up being the number 1 sold Switch game at $60. Nintendo really has no incentive to lower the price, their games still sell like crazy.
Long live the "$19.99 Greatest Hits" era.

Supply and demand. If the Ninetendo fan boi didnt cave in the pay retail for an ancient games, Nintendo would have no choice but to deep discount their prices. This is not a deal.

It's a deal seeing as that practice isn't ever going to stop. So all the people hoping that "if we all coordinate together and stop buying Nintendo games then they'll lower the price" aren't being realistic. It's not gonna happen, so either get over it or move on.

Far ahead of you buddy, already decided not to waste $ on any Nindendo switch games even that means my switch just sits there and collects dust. Got it as a gift with a couple of games and cant stand the way Nintendo think so highly of their games and not willing to discount like every other games. Beside i found an pc emu already. ✌️ 💋

Ah so you don't agree with their prices but feel entitled to get their stuff free? Talk about someone thinking highly about themselves.
Well Elden Ring just scored higher than Ocarina of Time as the #1 ranked game of all-time so. . .
We regret ever buying a Switch TBH. Nintendo will always have a place in my timeline, but they're well past expiration for me. Our last Nintendo console for sure.
According to what website? Metacritic still has it 3 points lower than OoT, 96 vs 99. It's below BotW and lots of other games, and that's based on an average of every popular review site's score put together. Mario Odyssey is rated higher as well. At the end of the day it's all subjective, Elden Ring is in my top 5 of all time so why would I care what it's rated, but to say Nintendo is past its heyday is crazy ignorant. Their newest games are among their best ever.
OMG I've gotta rant about this one. So disappointing. It feels like a game that they assigned to some summer interns. Just so generic. Whereas Mario Kart 8 has a bunch of really cool tracks related to other Nintendo IP's, Mario Golf has absolutely nothing unique or interesting. Just several different mostly weather-variant golf courses (wind, rain, snow, etc) that don't really have anything to do with Mario. They could have done a DK-themed course in a jungle... Nope. They could have done a Zelda-themed course in Hyrule... Nope. It's really that bad and gets old quickly. There's one course where all of the fairways and greens look like different Mario characters. And it "looks cool" but it's way too hard because the different colors of each character are different types of surfaces so some parts are like rock where you might be expecting to hit a fairway and your ball goes flying. The animation and voice acting is cheap, generic, and repetitive. If you have ever played the Simpsons bowling game, that is a game that they put a lot of thought into and made sure there were a lot of different voice clips and animations for each character. Like if you bowl strikes repeatedly, you still get different reactions. Not this game. Every character has individual reactions for a birdie, par, bogey, etc, but they're the same every time. Every course has its own music, but once you're on the green, same music every time.
There's an online multi-player mode where you can challenge 3 other people to a best of 3 holes of golf. This is sort of fun, but when it first rolled out it was so annoying because each character has these "special" shots that can knock other people's shots off the course. This made the online mode almost unplayable until they disabled all of the "special" shots. Like how did they not know that would be a problem? It also initially had no timer, so if someone just quit you would just see their character on the screen not moving and you couldn't advance to the next hole, so now if someone tries to do that it times them out after 30 seconds and they forfeit the hole. Again, how did they not know that would be a problem? Oh and when you finish this best of 3 holes it shows you everyone's scores, but then it always does this annoying ranking animation where it shows a bunch of random numbers changing rapidly, but then it always stops to show the correct scores that it had displayed a few seconds before, along with the rankings 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. It's completely pointless. Then when you're done there's always a small crowd of various Mario enemy characters applauding around the green while the winner is on a podium, but again the same generic animation is used for each of the same type of character. It looks so fake and annoying, again as if some summer interns programmed this and put no thought into it.
This game has no life to it, no depth. I won't even speak on the "speed golf" component (which the game title implies is a major part of the game). It's so worthless. Overall this was just an absolutely terrible entry into the Mario sports franchises. Could have been soooo much better. I can't stand it and do not recommend it. The OG Mario Golf 64 is 1000 times better.

So what are you doing posting on a Switch deal if you have no intentions of buying it? Why do you care what people do with their money? What do you gain by telling us that you think so highly of yourself for stealing games compared to the rest of us lowly suckers who are actually supporting companies whose products we enjoy?
This is how Nintendo works and people still pay full price. I have a switch and only a few games for it. I'm just going to wait for them to make their next console. At that point they'll just start porting over all the old games again like Mario Kart 8 and Zelda, charging $60 a pop to play on the new system. Then on the switch the prices will drop to something reasonable. It's ridiculous that they still get away with this yet Playstation and Xbox games ,especially their exclusives, drop in price. What's sad is people know Nintendo does this and still buys the games at these prices. So Nintendo thinks "why should I lower the prices if these schmucks still pay full price for almost 10 year old games?". The only pro about paying full price for these games is that you can sell them a couple of years later for like 95% of the new price you bought them for.
It's because there is only one Nintendo. Nobody makes quality titles like Nintendo especially for kids. Older adults… too many make games for them. Also, the sports game on Xbox.. yes those are $$$. Talking full msrp + micro transactions.
Remember, last year they had most of the popular Switch games for $27.99 on Black Friday. That is probably the lowest you're going to get considering Nintendo likes to price gouge. I'm going to wait a few months to see what they offer.

Is it price gouging or are they just not dropping the prices on their games? Considering many games are becoming $70, or are sold upfront in more expensive editions thanks to season passes etc, it's odd for people to claim Nintendo is the one guilty of price gouging.

I mean charging full price for a 5-10 year game is price gouging but since you've appointed yourself a Nintendo representative I'm going to let you live. I'm sure the company doesn't need defending as they'll continue to rake in the cash for their overpriced old games. Don't worry about it, people are still willing to pay for it. Nintendo will be fine. lol

Oh because I'm not part of the Nintendo outrage club I'm a representative?
I'm asking an actual question about the definition of price gouging. Since when is it a rule that games have to become cheaper? Publishers will drop prices as demand decreases. Sometimes they won't bother. Them not doing so isn't price gouging though. The age thing is also a weird argument to me. Do I enjoy the game less because its older? Likely not. Is there a newer version? Then I won't buy the old one at full price.
I get that people think they should drop in price, but if they aren't willing to do so, then just don't buy them? Don't make stuff up though to justify your anger though.
As a consumer, support who you want. Getting angry at companies who owe you nothing is ridiculous and a waste of time.

It's fun to have online play, but only having 4 game boards is really frustrating. They really need to add 4 more, minimum.
