There's a point in which these ultra quiet units are just moving air around and not actually filtering anything.
You have to realize that most air contaminants have to be pulled into the filter for it to actually work and if the fan doesn't have enough power to generate any kind of suction, that won't happen. That ionization feature some of these have was supposed to help with that, but this proudly advertises that it doesn't have that feature.
But there's a more substantial defect in this one in that it can create a venturi effect, in which the air it just filtered gets blown right back into the unit.
If that's the case then sign me up for a pallet! I thought I knew what 'slow' internet was until I moved ~5 miles further into the middle of nowhere. I had no clue, sometimes I have no signal, at all. The only reason I do at this moment is because it's 3:45am. What do people in this situation do?? I've run out of people to ask and no one seems to know.
Good price with the extra filter but take note that it doesn't have an auto setting. So it won't automatically detect changes in the air like cooking odors and rev up.
For anyone that has this, how well would this+ Winix air purifier + clean vents + new furnace filter, help reduce dust on my desk? Thanks in advance for any advice/tips
Using two of these for 2 years now. The ambient blue light settings are nice with a dim and bright option. Noisier than my Winnix air purifier at the highest setting, there's 3 and has an indicator 1,2,3 of the current setting. It's designed well and looks good on the shelf. Changing out the filter and pre-filter can be a bit tricky if you don't align the grooves well. Plenty of cord length and the heoa filter is thick, which is nice for a compact unit. It's very touch sensitive and have turned it on and off just placing my glasses on top of it.
I don't have this model, but I have two different Levoit and I like them a lot. Both are pretty quiet on level 1 and moves enough air and if I need to ramp it up to level 2 or 3 then it is nosier but also I can feel the air really get moved around.

Anything that uses electricity will emit an electromagnetic field, like a light bulb.
All motors such as fans, electric motors, air filters etc...will emit an a large electromagnetic field, it's how they spin.
Now if a geiger counter was detecting radiation from an air purifier then that would be worrying.

Some of the reviews claim that one isn't even a true hepa purifier.

That's because you haven't plugged it in
For my bedroom, I have a smaller one that is pretty quiet on level 1 but moves enough air in night mode.

For my living room, I have a bigger one that moves a lot of air and is pretty quiet on level 1 as well.
