Quick Clickers, be careful, these Illy Capsules are compatible only with Illy Iperespresso machines and/or a small number of ESE pod compatible espresso machines.

Not compatible with the K-Cup or Nespresso machines.

Amazon carries just a few Iperespresso machines. [amazon.com] If your espresso machine is ESE pod compatible, it probably came with a special ESE pod filter basket.

I owned a couple of Iperespresso machines, they are good. But I bet some fast clickers buy these thinking they will work with their machines when they do not.

Me too, which is why I said it was my favorite of the mass market brands. Not everyone has the bandwidth to go seek out the best small business and purchase from them directly. This is great when I want a better coffee without extra effort. My favorite budget mass market brand is LaVazza for the record. We usually buy the 2.2 lb bags of whole beans. We buy from a local business where their family grows the beans in Guatemala when we want something real special. But at $22 for 10 oz, it is holiday beans, not daily beans. If this Illy deal had whole beans I would have been all over it.

Which LaVazza do you like? And yes, local roasters are out of their minds. If you have a Grocery Outlet near you, check them for Running Pump - single origin 2lbs is $10 total. Right now, my local had Papua New Guinea but Roast Date was 6/10 so I passed. Sometimes the manufacturer, Gerhart Coffee, does pretty good sales direct. I was buying Kenya AA last year for $5/12oz which I believe was a price mistake on the site and they've since removed it.

I'm looking at either the Lungo or the dark roast. Which would be the better option for lattes but also as just espresso shot? I currently make lattes using Ruta maya dark roast.
