Good price OP, remember, this Shimano reel is saltwater ready, and is usually priced at $240, super light weight, durable, butter smooth, will last at least 5 years or more, unlike some junk chinese reels you buy for fun on amazon, Piscifun, Kastking….

yup, Shimano is the best reel on the market and hardly goes on sale
I could totally understand a $600 fully sealed Van Staal if you were surf fishing everyday, but it's hard for me to imagine how much smoother this could be than a $150 reel.

A $150 Penn with sealed drag and bearings is just as saltwater ready which is to say that neither of them are very ready for saltwater exposure.
Only a fully sealed real can take dunks without maintenance. Those cost about $500-1000.

Its not just the smoothness, its the durability, saltwater proof, and lightness, go ahead and try to find a spinning reel, especially 3000 series for 6.3 ounce, that is under $200, go ahead.

Only opinion you'll ever need for fishing reels.
