I wonder how these fit compared to Merrill's. I got in on the last Merrill deal from Amazon and they don't fit right. They're too big mostly but too small for the small toes.

I have the shoe version of these and they're terrible. Poor fit chewed up my ankles (probably not an issue here) and they way too heavy for a hiker. I'd go with a company that is known for hiking shoes, not athletic shoes.

I have a pair of Terrex Swift R3 hiking shoes and they were absolutely perfect on a hiking trip I went on. These shoes look like they use similar build features but probably do not have the same footbed. I used my R3's hard for a week and a half through dense, sticker bush filled, insanity and they are beat up but my ankles never rolled and feet feel good. Terrax may not last as long as something made of full grain leather but they are lightweight and very comfortable without much breaking in. I would not suggest you buy a pair expecting them to hold up for years and years-- those shoes cost quite a bit more.
