    It's lightweight tyvek--this stuff: https://www.reddit.com/r/myog/com...abric_aka/ Very similar to the kind of stuff you wrap a house in, i.e. it lets water vapor out but not liquid water in. I have one of these jackets for hiking and it works great. It's a favorite in the ultralight backpacking world because it's cheap, light, and does the job as well as any rain jacket can do (you'll sweat like crazy but won't be getting rain on you).

    They run at least one and sometimes two sizes large. Check the dimensions/fit before ordering and remember they are made to be layered over your clothes so you do want it a little bit oversize.

    This rain jacket is oversized so it does not restrict movement. Buying one size smaller is probably a good idea.

    So, this is poured out or extruded in sheets?
    It says it's breathable. How does it breath if it's a solid, unwoven sheet of plastic?

    Spotted the ultralighter 😊 Good to see someone else recommending tyvek tape. That stuff can patch sleeping pads, too!
