  • About this item:
    • Because the best coffee starts from the grounds up, we created the OXO Conical Burr Coffee Grinder to help your beans unlock their full potential. The design is simple, so nothing stands between you and your first cup. Just add beans and choose from 15 grind size settings – from fine for espresso to coarse for French press – turn the dial to select grinding time and push to start. Stainless steel conical burrs create uniform grounds, for gold-cup flavor, and the one-touch timer keeps your last setting, so you don't have to reset it every time.

There is a note on page for a free bag of coffee from Trade Coffee with purchase, but I do not see how this gets added or redeemed

$10 off $50 Oxo at Amex offer makes this slicker.
I've had this thing for a few years. It's been an absolute tank and it's super easy to use and clean. I bought my parents an Encore and while it does a great job, it's nothing special. Tbh I think this one looks better. At nearly half the price of an Encore, I'd say the OXO is a no brainer.

Been waiting for the Baratza Encore refurb for $119 to come back in stock. Should I keep waiting or jump on this? Pairing with my recent Moccamaster deal

works great for my espresso with pressurized portafilter, but there's debate if this can grind sufficiently fine enough for unpressurized, some say yes if the beans are oily.

I like my OXO. I use it on the finest setting for my daily AeroPress fauxpresso/americano. 20g coffee/50g water, 1min brew with water off boil. For drip coffee through the Moccamaster, though, it should be plenty good. However, I'm sure the Baratza is more highly rated for a reason. If you decide to get the OXO, and then later decide on the Encore, you could probably sell the used OXO on marketplace for around $50.

Go for this one. I have a Baratza Encore and love it and it works great with my Moccamaster with a setting of about 17. I have a Delonghi Ariete and a Moccamaster at our beach house. This Oxo seems better than the Delonghi and the Delonghi is excellent... not quite as good as the Encore but for sure faster and quieter and still produces very consistent grounds with almost identical results as the Encore.

Been using this for 4 years. Only bad thing about it is some grounds (1-2 grams) are left in the chute which you may want to tap out if you are serious about coffee/water ratio.

Is there be much difference between this one and the Encore for coarse grind in terms of speed, maintenance, and reliability?
I only make french press coffee at home, and have been using a Kyocera hand grinder, until I fractured my wrist earlier this year. Recently I started grinding beans with the Kyocera again, with a dewalt drill Smilie But wife hates the fact that I always keep a big yellow drill on her kitchen countertop.

Does the ground coffee "static scatter" over the countertop when removing the ground container? (We're in a dry climate which makes this worse.)

I see the metal container is supposed to reduce this. Any commentary on how effective this is?

IMHO this is "good enough" for pour over / batch brew types of brewing. Will not be good enough for espresso though.

I've been using the OXO grinder and 8-cup brewer every day and it's been great.

If you want to save some bucks I'd get this instead. Just depends on your goals with the grinder.

A little bit but it's not much. If static is a concern then spray the coffee beans with a little bit of water and shake then grind.

Definitely a tank. As I mentioned in earlier post, I tap out the grounds left in chute such that the housing is showing dents. Still working just fine.
