I bought one of these a bit over a year ago as well (seller was secondipity) and have had 0 problems. Luckily, my batteries are still going strong. Great little vacuum.
This just isn't true. You might be comparing the wrong series of each brand of vacuum, for example the Dyson V10/V11 must be compared to a $400-$500 LG / Samsung, not a base refurb model like this one.

All 3 companies offer vacuums with similar levels of power (measured in suction in terms of AW) and battery life (measured in runtime length) for each price bracket. In fact one might argue LG has the best battery life of the three as some of their models come with 2 swappable batteries where they are usually sold separately for Dyson and Samsung.
I bought a refurbished one a little over a year ago, and both batteries have gotten to the point where they barely last more than a few minutes

After trying LG and Samsung cordless stick vacs, realized that Dyson has no real competition when it comes to power and battery life. Stick to Dyson V10/V11 for best price-performance ratio.

I have Dyson v10 and samsung bespoke jet I prefer bespoke jet by far

Stay with Dyson.

After a year of using this terrible vacuum was enough for me to trash it and go and buy the more expensive Dyson.

It runs HOT! It has NO suction. The filtration is TERRIBLE. And worse of all it's LOUD!

Do not believe anyone who tells you that these are in any way comparable to Dyson. They are fooling themselves into thinking that what they have is good enough. Because at the end of the day Dyson is still the undisputed king of stick vacuums.

Also longevity wise. With a Dyson there is a huge 3rd party base where you can literally buy every single piece needed to refurbish it. We have a V8 that we just replaced it's second battery and even the dust canister. The parts were so cheap! Motor is still going strong after 5 years! Almost like getting new vacuum.

I can almost guarantee you that the LG and the Samsung in 5 years will be absolute vapor ware/trash. Just look at their track record for their major appliances. After a couple years of release it becomes impossible to find replacement parts for them because they plan pure obsolesce by ensuring replacement parts are not available.

So true. Anyone else is just fooling themselves into thinking they've got a more superior product for cheaper or a "Dyson" alternative.

They just can't admit it when they are wrong

Couldn't you use the warranty to get new batteries?

There's a suspicious amount of LG hate and Dyson love in this thread, but I have seen vacuum threads where people hate Dyson by love their LG, so who knows. All I can say is I've had no big problems with the LG Cordzero A9 refurb after 14 or 15 months. Just annoying that to empty the dirt/dust compartment you often have to use your hand and pull out all the crap you just vacuumed up to empty it out, certainly not the best design. No issues with suction power, but using it only on hard floors. The two included batteries are still in top shape and run for a long time. I don't think I'll have to use the 2 year warranty, still got about 7 or 8 months.

I remember Vacuum Wars was a great youtube channel to learn about the pros and cons of any vac you might be thinking about buying. I'm not sure if a refurbished LG CordZero A9 for $240 is still a great deal in late 2022, since it's been that price for a couple of years now, but not a bad value.

Have both the Dyson v11 and a9. The Dyson has.. vaguely higher suctioning power (purely anecdotal) and debris removal makes more sense than the LG but otherwise I prefer the LG. The attachments are better, the dual battery system is executed well, and the ergonomics are better. All cordless stick vacuums have the same problems FYI, batteries that fail early or lose capacity quickly, poor long-term durability ratings, and weak power in general compared to traditional vacuums. At the end of the day the differences are too small to bother with comparing; just go with the cheapest option available to you.

The LG's vacuums power is the same across all their models except the Kompressor. Difference between models are what accessories they come with. This isn't considered a base model either as it comes with the soft roller and 2 batteries.

I have a V8, V10 and a LG A9. I wouldn't rely on youtube videos when it comes to this. Try both of them at the same time and see the difference yourself. I just mentioned above that I ended up returning my A9 because I wasn't impressed with it at all.
I agree. I have this A9 and I got a V6 Dyson for free. Dyson is much easier to maneuver, Appears to match the suction ability and does really well even on hardwood with the regular roller. I can only imagine ho much better the newer models are. I am sold on Dyson and plan to get one once my A9 dies.

If you run it on turbo mode (boosted suction) the manual states the battery lasts about 6 minutes. Much longer on normal mode. Given the type of battery being "refurbished" should not make a difference in battery life compared to new

I bought this refurbished last year and here are my comments. Some bad: the suction is a bit weak but it still sucks decent. If you have tough dirt stuck on thick carpet, it may not perform well. But hardwood and thin carpet, it's a good product. It does randomly go on turbo mode for no reason. I switch it back to normal mode when I hear it go louder on turbo. It happens once every vacuum session. It's annoying but worth dealing with for $100 savings for a new vs refurbished. As for good, the two brushes provide a nice feature, to be able to swap from carpet to hardwood floor. I keep this on my bottom floor and my corded shark up stairs where there is thicker carpet. For my use case, I'm glad I got it.

I wish they had something to nicely organize the accessories. I got the deal last time with the Total Care Kit and have no place to neatly store all of the extra pieces so I have to hide them away, making it less convenient.

Anyone find anything better than just getting a small bin to dump them in?
