Was determined to soon finally upgrade my 970 to a 3070 but seeing how close this is in performance to that, while being (currently at least) way cheaper and with more VRAM than the 3070...is there any reason to still get the latter if we take DLSS out of the equation?
The low $ listings for the "new ones" and "open box" said they were coming from foreign countries like Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and China with the prices seeming too good to be true. So I went to check for seller feedback and when I expanded the links to those sold items I received "Error Page" which I think means the buyer probably never received the item and had to claim fraud and get a refund back from eBay and / or their credit card company and eBay deleted the listing. Most of the lower priced listings were "parts only" which means non-working cards.
One of the cards that still had a listing and sold for $275 looked like a mislabeled 3060 as the photos showed a two fan 3060 (not a TI).
One of the 3080's listed as selling for $300 had the seller with a (-3) feedback and comments like "Scammer" and referring to that 3080 "Item was never shipped. HP NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB"
The first sold listing that looked legit was for $440 from a seller with (still) zero feedback. Whether or not the buyer received the item yet, I don't know.
At best it looks like maybe a few buyers here and there were able to get them used for $450, which IMHO seems what a used card should go for when the new ones drop down on sale for under $600.
Not sure how these deals start out with an early swath of upvotes before eventually getting thumbed back down to where they belong. Maybe failed miners trying to prop up the price of their used cards out of desperation. HODL
ooh, my b I was looking a few pages in, and forgot it was on lowest first and not latest, i went brain dead there, honestly. but I would say when it comes to gpus if they work they usually keep on working, I've never had a problem buying used and there's a ton of big name youtubers who would generally agree. And ebay and paypal protect you so, I think buying used is always worth a shot, almost every gpu ive every bought was used, they never gotten worse and preformed to spec
pretty sure I could scoop up a working 3080 for 500 if I needed one
That poor guy thinks a770 is actually gonna launch 🤣
It's also slower than a 3060ti...not even close.
Frame times are a joke, etc. Poor kiddies, don't smoke Intel's product. They're dealing and using their own supply!

Wow interesting. Hopefully new prices will fall within about a 100 of those. Thanks!
Yea sir! I'm holding. I need an upgrade but I'm hobbling along ok with my 1070. Going to buy a new monitor now and then Nov/Dec grab a new card.
I think you missed the memo bro

Those cards have probably been mined to death. I don't care what anyone says.
