Amazon treats food products terrible in their warehouses. They don't put cooling systems in most of their warehouses so a lot of food gets damaged by being stored too hot and they just ship it out anyway and only replace it if someone complains.

That said, food returns or replacements are usually pretty easy. I ordered a flat of jelly a few months ago and one of the jars was broken and another 3 had broken seals from clearly being stored in a very hot warehouse. I messaged Amazon customer support with a photograph of the damage and they sent out a replacement the same day. The replacement ALSO had ruined jars from heat damage but between the two shipments I did OK.

In a case like this the cookies will probably arrive destroyed, and they'll send a free replacement if you send them a photo, and the replacement will probably also be destroyed.

If you want two bags of cookie dust at this price, and don't mind spending some time interacting with customer support employees in India, this isn't a bad deal.

The review pictures gave me a good laugh. They seem to get smashed during shipping.

With a name like Chips Ahoy, you'd think that they'd travel well. But yeah it's a roll of the dice on what condition they'll arrive in. I've had issues with chocolate arriving melted from Amazon as well.

It's generally in the summer months. I live in a very hot climate and there's not much that can be done about it other than buying locally. I try to buy chocolate from Amazon in the cooler months to avoid melting in shipment. The big grocery chains ship bulk candies in refrigerated trucks so that it is climate controlled all the way to store shelves. Amazon uses USPS and UPS by comparison, neither of which climate controls their freight. Not an easy problem to solve, although I've gotten shipments with freezer packs in with the chocolate.

Only sociopaths eat hard cookies. Chewy is how God intended cookies to be consumed.

Their cookies are hard and dry. Chewy version are good but small size. And if you live in a warm climate risk of melting if ordering any chocolate food items. Both target, amazon I've never gotten a cold packet or insulation when shipped chocolate chips, just tossed in a plain cardboard box

That has to be the most glib comment I've heard all month. How exactly does someone's cookie preference relate to their basic social interaction style? If you don't like hard cookies that's fine, but to insult anyone who doesn't share your preference is a bit over the top. Perhaps you should give some thought to what you say and how it's received by others, so that you don't embarrass yourself.
