I have these. Sound is great, but they have the same build issues as steelseries. They have a weak spot where ear cups attach to headband. The ear cups I swapped pads because the stock ones are not great. They are also pretty heavy clamping force and need to be stretched a bit. My first set had battery failure at 1 year and 3 months... Audeze still replaced even though I was out of warranty so plus one for customer service.

There are connection issues, I sit about 10 feet from my dongle and I will get pops and reconnecting messages. I have had to add an extender and stretch it closer to my sitting area.

So yeah, sound is great, but there are build and connection issues that shouldn't be occurring in $300 ($200) headphones.

I have a pair... my third pair. Each has broken near the swivel hinge within a few months. They are incredible in the sound quality department, but have build quality issues. They also have pretty poor microphone monitoring, it's very quiet if that's an issue for you. I would recommend the Arctis Nova 7x at this time instead tbh.

These are fine if you don't care about mic quality. Pretty lacking in that department. The möbius has a good mic though.

I have one for Xbox. Just going to say stuff not so obvious. I use with Bluetooth too. Easily switchable from one device to another with double press on power. (Much easier than xm3). It's heavy and hot on ear. I can not tell the charge amount easily just from the headphone. So I always end up keep on charging which is annoying. Changing EQ always seem to make the sound worse. Sound can get incredibly loud without distortion. It can almost act like a small speaker. The customer service is really good.

I'm using AKG k712 pro with a soundblaster g6. How would these compare?

Not quite. Nothing will touch the planar magnetic headphone technology in sound quality. That being said, Audeze cut some weird corners/didn't know what they were doing when they made these. They cheaped out on the wireless receiver, which in turn affected the mic quality. They also cheaped out on the physical build quality, which led to many headband failures of these (as well as the original Mobius, which I went through 3 over the span of 4 years).

I gave up on Audeze for now. Switched to the Bang and Olufsen BEOplay Portal. Excellent wireless range and sound quality (still not as good as the Audeze, but 95% there), with a decent microphone, and good spatial sound (supports Dolby Atmos for Headphones.)

Agree with the gist of the comments here: great sound, questionable build choices. I actually find them to be super comfortable but yeah mine have a habit of disconnecting for no reason. They will also sometimes do the "crinkle" thing despite me having been extremely gentle with them. I think the cost is relative to producing excellent sound in a wireless headset but you can probably find better values out there.

Don't be so quick to blame the headphones for connection issues. I don't own the Penrose, but I do own the Mobius. I had connection issues that seemed to only be fixed when I got super close to my computer. One day (on SD of course) there was a deal for a BT 5.0 USB adapter. I bought it and disabled my internal BT - ABSOLUTE perfect since then. I can freely move around with out it cutting off.

EDIT: My entire reply likely doesn't reply. Forgot the Penrose doesnt just eliminate wired surround, but you can't swap hardware on console for which the Penrose is designed for.

Think you might have a big head dude. I've had my Mobius for 3 years now. As I mentioned just before this post, I swapped my BT adapter on my PC and I have zero connection issues with my Mobius now.

I had some troubles with this headset, it was extremely sensitive to wireless interference and even though support was fine, after replacing the headset once and the wireless adapter twice it still had interference problems adding extra noise into the headphone. To complicate things further compared to other wireless headsets on the market now, Audeze doesn't touch the battery life or wireless range of other options.
