Anecdotal, as all reviews are, but bought 6 of these (256GB version) about a year and a half ago and installed them in some Dell Optiplex PC's that were being donated to a local library. All of them are still working today. All disks can fail, which is why you should have multiple copies of your most valuable data.
You can check my post history. Nobody's paid me a dime, I just defend products that I really like and trash talk products I've had issues with. My trash talk lead to Red Pocket mobile refunding me a couple hundred dollars for a situation they did me wrong on, so I think it's important to let other slickdealers know about good and bad products on here. I.T. and home theater is my career and I have built and upgraded hundreds of systems, Teamgroup is my go to for bang for buck in most cases. If I had issues with their products, I'd be on here letting people know about it.
I've been through hundreds of Teamgroup SSDs in my builds for customers and personal use. I've replaced more Samsungs (and a surprising number of Sandisks) than Teamgroup SSDs.

Nice price. Nice warranty. But definately read the reviews. People experiencing problems are going to post more often than people who are not having problems. But there are a lot of reviews talking about problems 2-6 months later. Plus 7 weeks rma process.
Your data and time is worth more than the money you will save.

Oooh now this is tempting. Still holding out for, hopefully, $100 for 2TB NVME by BF.

The lowest for gen 3 m.2 has been about $120.. since bounced higher. Even with a variety of competitors there is no disruptive competition going on. 4tb still pretty high.. maybe BF or time (2023) will change that

SSD is very cheap in China right now. Because they figured out how to make it.

How streamlined are warranty returns for Team? Are there a lot of hoops to jump through, or is it pretty cut and dry? Anyone with prior experiences?

Also, it's a bit slower than the half gigabyte pro version, or it appears to be on paper. Can anyone suggest an independent site that has reviewed these drives?

Well we can only hope at this point. If it becomes reality then everyone profits.
