I literally seen someone on an different TV say "decent picture, but my A80J is better". When your looking at TVs under $500, compared to his that also cost $2500. You literally can't compare lol.

I believe it's been stated in past posts that that is the identical TV, but Walmart has their own version of it (only the model number is different).

Been buying high tier TV's since 2007. My living room TV will always be high tier. There's a difference and with that difference comes with a cost. Got a 4 series TCL for my bedroom last year for $220 and it's amazing. Viewing angles are trash but if you're watching head on it's a great TV because of picture quality and low cost. As my tvs fail I'm replacing them with TCL. I use apple tv boxes to stream from.

This was $225 last month. Picture is fantastic, wish I bought 2.

Correction it was the 431 model.

At least this has 4 hdmi ports, that's a rarity in bargain priced tv's.
I bought 2 cheap TCL tv's about 2 years ago, and have been really happy with them. They're not the best of the best but they're really good for day to day watching, and if my kid breaks one or it burns out like 3 of my samsung panels have.. no big deal.

That being said, I got a 65" tcl from target 2 years ago for $220 ish
and a 55" from walmart around the same time for under $200.

prices on cheap tv's have crept up since then, it's surprising

Purchased this afternoon, Walmart had it on my doorstep by 7pm. Free delivery. That alone is worth the extra few bucks, being that this may not be the cheapest it's ever been.

I have what I think is last year's equivalent of this (55S431). I somewhat regret not getting a better screen (5-series?). 99% of the time it's totally fine and I'm not too picky, but it looks absolutely terrible for dim fast moving scenes, which are sort of important in some film. Like, so bad that when I first noticed the issue while watching a movie I thought the director was going for some sort of glitch aesthetic with exaggerated visual artifacts.

I don't know how much more you'd have to pay to avoid that issue, but it's not exactly easy to throw out a 55" screen, so I probably won't upgrade for years unless I move or the TV breaks.
