SteelSeries [steelseries.com] is offering 12% off on headsets (maybe entire site too).

Use promo code: SHOCK12 at checkout

after discount:

SteelSeries Arctis 7X [steelseries.com] = $131.99 + tax
SteelSeries Arctis 7X+ [steelseries.com] = $149.59 + tax
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7x [steelseries.com] = $158.39 + tax

for those of you wondering what the difference is between all these headsets:

7X = 24 hour battery life and Micro USB

7X+ = 30 hour battery life and USB-C Charging allows 15 minute quick charge for 3 hour usage.

Nova 7X = 38 hour battery life, Bluetooth, USB-C Charging allows 15 minute quick charge for 6 hour usage, lighter, better app, sound and comfort than the 7X+, however the 7X has a better build quality.

I recommend 7X unless you want the upgrades from the Nova 7X. the 7X+ is like the middle child here that doesn't offer much when compared to saving $16.80 with the 7X or getting more upgrades with the Nova 7x for only $8.80 more than that 7X+.

This is the #1 series of headsets for multiplatform compatibility. Works on PC, Switch, Xbox Series/One, PS5/PS4, Mobile, etc...

Looks to be a site wide code. Works on Steelseries Nova Pro Wireless as well (I tried on the XBox one). Brings the price down to $308 (down from $350). Of course that's not the lowest price ever for that headset. It was on sale for $300 for quite a few weeks on Amazon (couple of months ago).

Nevertheless, good price if someone wants one right away.
I've been using the 7X for about a year and a half now, I forget what I paid for them but:
-Daily usage for work and watching videos, gaming, Zoom meetings, etc...
-Not exactly nice to them, I throw them in my work bag to go to the office. Nothing broken yet. The retractable microphone is smart.
-I can wear them all day with no fatigue
-Minus the strap being flashy, they look nice and don't have the ugly "gamer" aesthetic

They still last for a full day, and well into the next if I forget to charge them. Sound is really decent, and mic quality is great. Range is solid, I can walk several rooms away and usually maintain a Discord call. I really like them.

Things I do not like:
-Micro-USB. Not sure why ANY company is still using this. Worth the extra 7X+ dollars for USB-C by itself. I have to use Micro to C adapters and they break all the time.
-Wireless dongle is a bit awkward for people who travel with these. It needs to be on the extension cable and away from your PC or the electronic interference will reduce the range to bluetooth levels.
-Sensitive to where it's placed, if I place the receiver so that something metal gets between it and my headset, range is cut considerably - but it's still pretty far.

Ah got it. Other than 7X being compatible with all 3, and 7P/7 only compatible with PS/PC, are the spec the same?

I don't own a Xbox, only a PC and PS5, and would use it for zoom/slack calls for work. I guess it's not really noticable when on but would rather not have the green band.

Specs are identical across all 3 only the Xbox compatibility and color is the difference. If you don't need Xbox maybe you should look at other headsets that don't work on Xbox to perhaps save money or get a better headset for the same price since the reason why the 7x are so popular is because they work on all 3 platforms which only a few headsets can do. I'm not saying the nova 7x are bad just for PC and PS5 I'm just saying do your research since there are ton of headsets that work on everything except Xbox yet very few that also work on Xbox.

Edit: you actually just missed out on a refurbished Corsair Void RGB Elite for $27.50 that would have been perfect for you since it works on everything except xbox and the sound and mic are amazing.

I have the Pro Wireless and depending on your setup the Pro Wireless provides the best connectivity options. The DAC on the Pro Wireless has an Opitcal port which I have connected to my receiver which controls all systems. This way the headset can be used with all game systems, TV, Blu-ray, etc without messing with connections. it looks like the Nova Pro does away with the optical.

Thanks for your insight Wilmer. I have the RGB Elite and I need to find something different.

You're right about the sound and mic, but it's design to expand larger is poor, and it falls off my big head if I look down unless I am wearing a hat...

I was looking at the 7X Nova, but it is pricey, and I will only be using this on PC. What else would you recommend I keep an eye on?

The PS5 pulse is currently $80 and is a front page deal.

Thanks OP. Steelseries also offers a military /1st responder discount (20%). Just requires you to send proof to their contact us chat form.

I was able to get best buy to price match the discounted price even though they said they shouldn't.

eh, i'm not sure this is such a great deal. they take forever to ship and will give you a 10% off coupon everyday just for signing up for their newsletter. so this is basically a 2% discount...

Awesome sale interesting enough I just spent last couple days reviewing SteelSeries nova's line and this came up just in time for purchase. I ended up buying the Xbox Nova Pro Wireless. Cant wait to receive it

Guess I don't feel so bad that checking this website when home from work is part of my daily routine.

2% is still 2% not to mention there are multiple codes that work in case the current one stops working and not everyone wants to sign up for the newsletter or they have already used it in the past.

My son really wanted these and so I went through many review sites, and consumer reviews. We ran away from Arctis fast. Too many reports of failures with these $150-200+ headphones, and their idea of support is to tell you to break the headphones, send them a picture, and then sometimes still deny warranty replacement. Like WTF! I don't mind the approach, but it should be "approved subject to verification of destruction of the broken headphones" and not hold off on any approval until then. Went with Sennheiser instead and he is quite happy.
The Arctis 7 has 7.7 stars on rtings, 90/100 from PC Gamer, 4.5/5 from Tom's Hardware, 4.3/5 from over a thousand Google user reviews, and 4.5 stars on Amazon with more than 13 thousand user reviews ... but sure. Run away.

You don't have experience with the product, and you read some reports from disgruntled users (who, of course, couldn't possibly be lying about those interactions with Steelseries).

This is, hands down, the best wireless PC gaming headset in the price range and if you "ran away", it's your mistake.

I've used my current set on a daily basis for over a year and they still look and act almost like new. Battery life is still about 13 hours of use. It holds signal across the house. It works while connected to a charger. Build quality is solid, and there's no obvious wear on any components. The strap is comfortable and I haven't found a head that it doesn't adjust to. Sound quality is as good as it gets for wireless in this price range. Microphone sounds almost as good as my Blue Snowball. The features are great, and the controls are simple and accessible.

No doubt they're awesome when they work, but I always read reviews from the bottom first...I want to know how bad it gets. And there are too many, not just on Amazon, to ignore how bad warranty interactions can be, and microphone switch failures reported even in several 3 or 4 star reviews. To each his own, we made our decision.

I've had an Arctis 7 since 2019. It's been mostly great. In the past I've had 3 different logitechs, a Razer Man of War, a Corsair HS70 and a couple of off brands. All the others were all replaced for the same reason... connectivity inconsistencies; Corsair has issues with their software.

I am still using the Arctis 7 because it's reliable.

I am in the market mostly to replace the micro-usb with a USB C.

I have used my current 7 daily, for hours and hours, go a few days without charging, and it just works. I receive no complains with the mic, put it on a headphone rest but haven't been gentle with it really, and they're still doing fine.

The two downsides I have encountered is the the length of connection has been less than the others and the ear pieces split at the seams after a couple of years but I had replacement ear pieces for that.
