Chromecast with Google TV (HD model) is $19.99 at the Google Store. Good for the the non-smart legacy TVs. The 4K version is $40, also discounted by $10, but the price on the 4K version seems to come and go pretty often.

You got the old one, the new one was released on September 22nd.

Unless I'm mistaken what he means is:

OLD: 4k chromecast /w google tv
NEW: 1080p chromecast /w google tv

AFAIK all other chromecast models are just for casting, only the two listed above have a smart tv OS.

I am guessing that the 4K model that I got from signing up for SlingTV in August is the new one, but how can I tell if I got the new 4K or the old 4K ?

The phrase "that's normally $30 and on sale for $20" is describing the old one when he meant it to describe the "new" one.

Was looking into this versus the Roku awhile back. After researching I found that the $20 Onn Android 4K TV streamer was highly spoken of on Slickdeals and elsewhere and seemed to be the better product at the $20 price point. https://www.walmart.com/ip/onn-An.../636597403 It does include the six months of Peacock too.
