RAM is not upgradable.
That's unfortunate. Between the display and beast of a processor (for a laptop), this is otherwise an amazing deal.
It is not obsolete

I don't know enough about laptops, but in terms of processing power, RAM upgradeability, and "not becoming obsolete in next 5-6 years", would the Vivobook be a better choice? Thank you!

At 8gb its already obsolete, but i see the usage w a good screen. This would be perfect w a 16gb stick even if soldered

Microsoft should not allow Windows on 8GB machines when Windows alone takes up nearly all of it.

And here we are MS selling it on their own website.

And how much did they save by soldiering the ram? $3.67?? Come one Foxconn or whoever made this. Why?

And as iff RAM upgradability wasnt enough problem, now we need to watch it for "Windows in S mode" which means you don't really have a true Windows computer but a media consumption device.

FYI, exiting S mode is always free and simple. Just a few clicks.
