What is the point of these exactly? I don't understand how LEDs can be this expensive

I bought these on clearance for the kids room but they find it annoying when they lose connection and become unresponsive to alexa commands, now they just sit collecting dust in a box in the garage.

It's definitely a novelty item like you'd find at Sharper Image, after it wears off and stop working, buyers remorse starts eating you alive.

Only a good deal if this is a new setup and you require the "Smarter Kit" hub to control the lights.

These are almost the same price point as buying the mini triangle expansion pack.

I just wish the shape was the colored portion alone without that horrid white border. Feels like lazy design.
