Would this be a good upgrade for. Legion laptop? Wondering about the heat and the power draw vs. a Samsung 980 Pro. It has been hard to find recommendations for laptops, instead of PS5 and Desktops.

Got the 2tb for the same price during July prime day. Great drive so far - no issues and performance seems good.

It depends if your laptop has pcie gen 4 (you can look up the exact model's spec on Lenovo)
If not then the drive is most likely overkill (of course you can still buy it but it would perform as a pcie gen 3 drive, then later you could make use of it in a pcie gen4 environment)

I would not be concerned with the power draw of an nvme drive.

This is also an interesting deal

Does anyone know if a SN850 would show similar results with PCIe 3.0? Debating which one to get.

may as well go for the SN770 in your use case, you'd be limited by bus bandwidth.

the SN850X is also out now, but the SN770 may outperform the SN850 in some cases so the diff should be minimal
