This is a nice promotion that Taylor is doing. I had a Mini a few years ago and loved it, unfortunately I sold it. I would like a 214cd-N because I have been wanting a nylon stringed guitar. If I go for it it would get the Mini E Koa for $299. Total price is $1,500. I could save some and get the 12-N with the Mini hog for $948? Or get the Mini E Koa and the 12-N for $1,048, that's like getting the 12-n for $48. What to do?

I think the trick is you have to buy a more expensive guitar at full price. And I believe you can usually buy a Taylor at discount from list.

I was wondering about this. So you guys don't think you can get the usual 5-10% music store discount and then take advantage of this combo on top of that? You have to pay sticker price?

Ended up returning it and ordering Academy 12 and GS Mini Koa. Great deal!

Thread update...

The brick and mortar where I purchased my 314ce let me in on the promo and I picked up a GS Mini-e KOA for $300. I've only had it for a couple of hours but I can already tell that it is a keeper. I love the size/weight/ergos and I can see it living next to the couch for years to come.

I took advantage of this. Wife wanted a little upgrade and I am interesting in learning. Being lefty, it's easier to buy new, I got a gs mini e koa lefty and wife got a 22e walnut total out the door 1200. Seems like a decent buy.

Academy 12 was delivered, but GS Mini-e Koa is still in "Processing".
Guitar Center responded it'll come this week so hopefully soon.

Checking in again.... I am absolutely loving my GS Mini-e Koa. I have never played a small form factor guitar that sounds this good and that is so easy to move around the fretboard. It's not just a "couch guitar", Its a "sit on the couch in any comfortable position you can think of, couch guitar". Between my 314ce and the GS Mini the GS Mini is getting 90% of my guitar time. I find myself playing much more now that it is so convenient and as a result I'm getting better... faster!
