I've had the S809's before (walnut) and they were excellent for their price. I got gotten them on an Adorama deal for $200. By the time I upgraded, I was able to sell them for the same price. I kind of regret not keeping them around though. The walnut S809 towers are on sale just over $200 as well

They are pretty solid performing budget speakers. As in, surprisingly good. Very well reviewed without costing 10x as much. The S809 floorstanding speakers are a great example.

I think this would be acceptable at $30-40, $50 tops, sound quality side of things. Agree they look nice.

Yeah, I saw that video too. I haven't watched the Joe N Tell review yet but I don't know that he reviewed them favorably either. From another review my big takeaway was that EQ can't "fix" the sound signature of these speakers so you either like that sound or you don't and there isn't much wiggle room in between. They aren't for me but I figured it was worth posting for others

I really like the sound of the SB acoustics drivers personally.

I'm not sure you understand what a pyramid scheme is...
These jamos work alright, but the tweeter is really really..sigh... I would consider $30-50 the highest for this.

While I don't necessarily think they are great speakers by any stretch, I don't know if I would go that low on value lol. Then again, I guess once you are willing to experience and invest in higher end audio, the amount you are willing to spend on more budget minded speakers drops too. It just doesn't feel as 'worth it' once you know better/can afford better I guess. I get what you are saying.
I trust some of the bigger YouTubers like the Cheap Audio Man channel. He doesn't really shy away from telling it like it is on a lot of products and has spoken, more than once, about how companies don't always like his negative reviews and they let him know it lol. Some reviews feel like your everyday Joe Shmoe trying to pass off a free product as something they spent money on and the quality of the review shows it. They throw out since buzz words and praise the thing non stop which drives me nuts.
I like Erin's Audio Corner too (hopefully his channel can continue soon after his recent personal issues). Joe N Tell is another decent one that gives some good data.
I actually ordered a pair of these to play with. I've seen them a hundred times but never owned them. It is honestly a dumb buy because I have 5 pair of Monitor Audio bookshelf speakers and 4 of those pair are not even being used. I'm still training my ears and never want to write anything off until I've experienced them first hand so I'll be interested to give these a listen and see how I feel about them. I can't really see myself keeping them but I would either return them or pass the deal along to someone else for a little less than this price.

Ah having 5 pair of speakers brought to mind the "hot" setup in the good old days of two pair of Dynaco A25 speakers on top of each other. They did sound great and are worth more now than new.
