These aren't water proof, and you should get something more stubby for snow.

I bought another pair. I bought a pair two years ago and primarily wear them while coaching my kids baseball. They've lasted 4 seasons so far (2 spring and 2 fall) and have held up really well. I also wear them around the yard for yardwork. I like the think rubber around the toes and while they are not waterproof, they hold up pretty well in the AM when the grass is wet. A pretty good shoe/sneaker for some light utility work.

Should be. Approach shoes are meant to get climbers to the wall, scrambling over wet rocks, trails, and some easier climbs. Should be grippy for most conditions... but nothing will beat a pair of spikes in the winter.
