I read about that on xda,might have to tell my brother to give it a try,i gave him the g1. I was thinking of rooting the touch before I sold it,just so it stood out some on CL.

I can't lie....I'm somewhat disappointed in the droid. I just fooled with it and man....the keypad is GARBAGE

deal breaking garbage

I'm going to still buy it because i'll save money with verizon and need the expanded 3G coverage....but if a better phone sneaks out from tomorrow to next month....I'm buying it!

shoot, I can't handle that keypad!

look at the table your computer is on, and cut small squares into it

there's no bubble at all to it. there isn't any real indication that you're pressing the right button. and more importantly, it's squished together.

basically, it's a waste of space. so, if I get used to typing on the screen, i might just switch out and get the blackberry storm 2 or a different touch screen. i can't deal with that keypad! i initially had a hard type even typing my name.

when you look at the pad, you start to see its true flaw - too many keys! two blanks, two alts, ^/....compare that to the new nokia coming out where the keypad looks flush and such. i personally have really never used alt in my keyboard life and forget its even on there!

They were saying the same thing about the keyboard,might be a problem for some,prob will for me. I have big fingers,and from the looks the keyboard is more squished then the g1,and I know I would double push buttons on that. Eh, def. will be picking it up tom. forsure!

i havent held it yet but it looks like the same keyboard thats on the cliq and alot of reviews i read said they liked that keypad

that is a good review but he's mistaken about the multitouch part.. its built into the software and the hardware but no one has published an app that uses it yet.. i wish google would use some of the gesture zoom's that they have tested out.. there is one where you tap the screen and make a circle motion to zoom in. and reverse the circle to zoom out so you can operate it with one hand instead of needing to do a pinching motion

Ok,so phone is in,been playing with it for a few mins now. 3 things off the bat I didnt like,one,the plastic screen protector has writing on it,I know you can buy some,but I usually use the ones the phones come with for a while,this one you cant bc it has pictures and words pointing to the buttons. The second thing is the way the keyboard slides out,really loved the way the g1 kind of popped out like a sidekick. This one is no assistance,kinda resistant when you push it out. Third thing is the keyboard,def dont like it, I have big fingers and i push multiple buttons down. They are too flat and too squished. I def could have done without the D pad and used that room for more keyboard. Camera seems to be a little better,but honestly not much,still hard to focus on it and pictures arent as clear as I have seen on other 5mp camera phones. Flash is nice,not great,but better then nothing forsure. I will keep playing with it and post other thoughts.

Ok so I am posting from the phone.browser is nice,double tap zoom I would like to go in a bit more,but maybe that's a setting choice.really hard to type on the keyboard and return key is going to be annoying I can tell especially txting kept hittin it on accident when trying to del/backspace

the browser better be nice at 854 by 480, that's like one of the main selling points..

Figured out you can change zoom level with double tap in settings. 3G seems to be faster loads then my touch on tmobile,but might be bc phone is bare right now. Havent tried the googlestreet thing yet,but will on way home for sure.Ran into some problems with handscent not recognizing numbers i had saved,for some odd reason a few friend i txt wont show up bc their numbers are coing in without area code in front of them,saved them without area code and now it comes in. Been playing with it most of the day,keyboard still is my biggest complaint,but other then that really like it.
