Walmarts BF tire sale is a bait and switch scam.

I'd never let Walmart touch my tires. If they ever have a good sale I'll get Goodyear to price match and get them installed elsewhere.

Why the hate? My s10 is still running on tires I got from Walmart ten years ago. One of them has a slow leak but they are quiet, ride nice, and even handled winter weather fairly decent.

I won't knock Walmart's tire center either. Bought 4 from them online for home delivery and TC install. Kumho LX Platinum KU27 All-Season Tire - 225/55R17 101W at $75 each. Good job. Tires on for close to a year with no issues. Took around an hour with an appointment.

I bought this specific tire for an old SUV from another tire center, had them match Walmart. Not as picky on the tire center as you, I just found them to be inconvenient to schedule and drive to compared to my other options.

That said, this tire is a classic. It's been around forever b/c it's effective (especially for the price) and it has a good look. Made a very weak looking 2WD SUV look considerably better. And improves off-road & all weather capability a little bit. Downside: there are quieter tires. They're not loud, but you can hear a bit of road noise when riding on pavement. Doesn't bother me at all (I don't even notice anymore), but it's worth noting.

Just bought a second set of these for the old 95 Grand Cherokee my kids drive & paid $75 less than what I paid 5 years ago for the same exact tire. Good tire that looks really good too!

I used to work at a tire shop and hated these tires, an inordinate number of them failed prematurely and had quality defects. I'd consider them for a deer lease or farm truck, but not anything road-going.

I don't have any specific recommendations for what's a good value just now but the Firestone Destination LE[#] are always good.

Now showing $75/tire for the 235/75R15s. Not a huge goodyear fan, but at that price you can't even get the garbage brands in such a large tire. My truck sees less than 4000 miles a year, usually the sun eats the tires long before the tread goes.

I think these were the OEM tires on my Ranger. I managed to get 12 years/47,000 miles out of them.
