This is a very good interface for beginner, and it is far superior than TC-Helicon GO SOLO which is listed in another front page deal. It is REAL latency-free.

In for 1. What is it?
That second part about not recording in stereo is just how recording works with pretty much any interface, my human.
re stereo/mono - this is how interfaces work. Each input will be single mic or instrument cable. If you really want a stereo source recording, set up two mics, one in each input, and record. Same with stereo synth if you want, left output to input one and right output to input two. Then in the software / DAW pan track one left and track two right.... stereo. Or in a DAW you could assign both inputs to a single stereo track.

But that isn't how multitrack recording is supposed to work. Pretty much the only things that should be recorded in stereo are drums and maybe synth. I record all in mono expect drums myself, then add stereo processing in the DAW for stuff that needs it. Oftentimes DAW plugin effects will add stereo components to the output. But your source recordings should be clean mono, otherwise you lose out on a lot of power a DAW gives you, plus your ability to mix properly.

It should, I can confirm that the solo definitely works with the deck, should be similar/identical situation here.
Great! Thank you! It's going to save me a lot of pain and time vs. trying to figure out if it will be supported in some later kernel.

Had high hopes for this device, wanted to use it to record stereo signal from my synth setup via an iOS device. Turns out it only records 2 separate mono tracks.
Also it kept power cycling when the input signal got a little loud.

Works great as a phantom preamp for microphone tho, I use it to connect my behringer c2 for zoom calls and I'm told it sounds good.
I read a comment that it can't be used for streaming. What's special about your setup?

Read a couple of reviews that said once the cable goes out or you lose it, the device no longer works. You can't buy a replacement cable.

Also hearing people say that it doesn't record in stereo. So your mic will be on one side, your guitar/track will be on the right.

Can anyone else confirm this?
I saw that same comment. Another comment about a lack of OEM made power supply. And finally one about not being able to use this for streaming.

My conclusion...there are good reasons this is severely discounted.

Pass.

That's not how mono recording works.

Works great on my iPhone with bias fix after my riff went up in smoke. Getting terrible latency in windows but that must be my laptop. Comes with basic iOS apps

Stereo is just 2 mono tracks. You need recording software to record them both together, and this is just how recording works for audio. Power cycling is more of an issue, how are you powering it?

Correct, but if you record a stereo signal into your iOS device it will downmix it to mono. I tried with the TC Electronic "Go Record" app, Garageband, AUM (doesn't even recognize the device)

On Ableton Live on my laptop, I see stereo or mono inputs available for this device, so maybe it's just an iOS limitation.

It was powered from an official iPhone camera kit connection dongle, connected to a 2a charger, using the supplied cable. Was capturing signal from a Denon mixer, volume out from the mixer was not that hot.

Not sure, one reviewed on Sweetwater said they were using a Pixel. Thinking about getting one but I already have a Zoom recorder so don't really need it...

Since the cable is proprietary I might epoxy the cable to the Interface. Sounds barbaric and unwise, but wont seem that way after the cable is lost.
