Thankfully I can still use this, just not in the way I originally intended. I have two Amex credits available (which I was saving for Black Friday cashback etc.)
So I can do this once with one credit ($150 order reduced to $100 plus a $75 coupon.) And then again with the other Amex credit ($125 order reduced to $0 with the coupon and credit).
Along with cashback, for me this should end up being roughly $73 for $275 in items. (Maybe not quite that good due to order totals being slightly higher than intended.)

Yes, definitely better in terms of true luxury brand offerings
This is like asking if Amazon.com is better than Walmart.com. Saks and NM carry other brands.
Looking at $180 for both before gift card and 10% CB from site. Seems like $87 (180 x 0.9 - 75) is a killer deal to grab some knifes. And $75 to get whatever else.
