Why are there so many reviews on target saying they couldn't redeem the card?
I know several people who had this issue, including myself. Google did not state why it couldn't be redeemed. They just asked us to provide proof the receipt and the gift card. They got back to us in a few days and the gift card finally worked.
Think this is about as good of a deal we're going to see this year on google play gift cards. In the past I've seen walmart or costco offer 20% off, but a 10% back in gift card and 5% off with red card might be it

Seriously disappointing how infrequent Google Play cards go on sale. Was hoping for a 20% sale, even if it was a brief one. Similarly, VUDU sold out at Kroger last week in under a day. What is the point of putting a gift card on sale for a week if you the retailer predict it won't make it longer than a day? This is an uninspiring retail environment.

Google pay was an option when I bought the 1yr Disney plus plan. Now it's under my subscription in Google play.
