This over the 32" 1080p all day. I own a 32" 1080 and a couple of 27" 1440p and will never buy a 32" again unless it's a 4k
I'd stick to 1080p at 24 1440 at 27 and 4k at 32. You'll see it if you use it, especially if you use side by side apps or webpages. This is assuming you're using a normal viewing range for a monitor of a few feet and you have decent visual acuity.
PowerToys FancyZones is a free tool you can use to split your desktop screen into various divisions that you can drag and drop a window into to autosize to your predefined zone.
Hope that helps. It sorta sounds like you might be talking about two inputs at the same time vs drag and drop from the main display but I wasn't sure.

I also got a $25 offer from Honey if I buy in the next 24 hours.
Trying to decide if I want to take back my 32" 1080p curved Dell monitor I got from Costco. Is the extra res worth the loss of 5 inches? Same price. I don't find myself wishing the res were better. Apparently I'm the opposite of a monitor snob?

I recommend the higher resolution. Once you see it you won't go back

Having used a 27" 1080p monitor, anything is an improvement over 1080p once you go beyond the 24" range, you can and will see pixels if you're within the monitor's correct viewing range.
It's good for gaming but they're also excellent work monitors. My wife likes hers. She prefers a flat panel, though. I have a 4k monitor and it makes some apps that don't have scaling difficult to use but 2k doesn't have as much of a problem.

Also depends on your PC specs if you get lower fps with high res , it won't be the best experience either
I have a question here, is it possible to separate the screen, meaning some of the Samsung monitors you can divide them to two separate windows, it is useful if you're connected as an extended monitor
