Only the high end is launching for team red with team green having just done so. This is mid range and there's no Indication of seeing the next gen mid range before February/March by either manufacturer. Prices could continue to fall, but not because of pressure by their replacements because that's months away.

People who are on the perpetual "prices will drop when X releases in a few months" PC component train don't seem to have been around for very many PC component release cycles. The 6650, 6700 and 6800XT are great values at their performance tiers. Happens every cycle yet there's a group of people who always preach waiting to buy. We probably won't see huge drops until the midrange drops next year and even then these cards will still be in demand since they are good values.

I believe that is its target resolution and should hit 60fps on just about anything. And for those that may be interested in this type of thing, I have this paired with an i7-12700K and am running Half Life Alyx on it and streaming to my Oculus Quest 2 via Virtual Desktop, and it handles it very well (after a little bit of tweaking).

First, I do agree with prices probably continuing down, but there's still part of me that's thinking, how much cheaper can it get? If anything was proven over the last three years, nothing is for sure. This could be a low point if supply shortages come back.

Depends. At 60Hz yes. 75hz Maybe. @ 144hz it will not "crush" but will be decent.

Finally bit, I will however be holding off on opening it till after the 7000 series launch to see if prices end up having more play. I just don't see these cards having that much more margin to give up and without a direct competitor am unsure how much lower they can go. Thanks OP!

This card trades blows with the rtx 3070 though the rtx 3070 is usually a bit faster. The rtx 3070 is generally more expensive too with smaller Vram of 8gb. I believe these cards target 1440p which is great for me.
