I've worked professionally as a Chef for 18 years, and Thermoworks is the industry standard. I bought a couple of the Thermopros you linked for some new employees, and they're not as accurate or as fast as the cheap Thermopops. They both lasted less than three weeks in my restaurant before they failed. We have a couple Thermopops that have been going strong for 4 years. I, most professionals, and health inspectors use Thermapens by Thermoworks. The cheap Amazon pens are probably fine for home use, as long as you're easy on them. I'm not knocking the cheap Amazon thermometers for what they are. I'd take a Thermopop over them any day if the week, though.

Keep in mind if you have an induction cooktop, the Thermopop might not work due to magnetic interference. Mine keeps resetting when it gets close to the cooktop so I have to lift the pan away to get a reading. Get the Thermapen instead if you have induction!

That 10% off worked on the Thermapen One which brought it down to $62.37, finally pulled the trigger on one! My Thermopop is still working after 5 years and will be a backup now.

Finally caved and replaced my 10ish year old full size thermapen that was starting to fail. These are the best of the best. Adding on a thermopop for $13 is a no brainer. Thanks OP!

Much faster than most junk on Amazon. Its first reading is basically the real one, it might go up or down by a couple of degrees but it's not like the ones that go 135..145..150.. 152
