SB-1000 $400
SB-1000 Pro $500OOS
PB-1000 $350-$400
PB-1000 Pro $600 Expired
PB-2000 $600
PB-2000 Pro $800 and more
SVS Outlet sale for Cyber Monday. Check the description, some models have minor blemishes, but all are backed with the same 5-year warranty.
For <$500 budget, the PB 1000 (non pro) is great. From my research, the PB 1000 Pro performs close to the PB 2000 non pro. The non-pros are all discontinued but are still sold in outlet sales.
SVS cited increased shipping container costs for their 20% price increases last year. Shipping container costs are now back down to where they were before the pandemic and yet it doesn't appear SVS has bothered to reduce their prices back down by 20% to reflect that fact! Interesting, isn't it? As if this company wasn't already making enough profit margin to begin with.
buy subwoofer, worst case, invest in younger wife.
I kid I kid. Your wife is super hot!
Explain to her the benefits of frequency smoothing with dual subs and that even her seating position will now enjoy well balanced bass. I'm sure she will understand And appreciate the lengths you go to make sure her bass experience is optimal.
If that doesn't work tell her that there is a 5% off on dual subs or return customers.
If that doesn't work either tell her a single sub looks asymmetrical and dual subs look far better and proportionate in the room.

Night and day. Once you buy that, you'll never go back. It's the biggest bang for your buck in an audio system. The first time you feel the bass below the couch, in the floor, you'll ask yourself why you waited. "Sound pressure" level will make sense.
Thanks! Any recommendations between pb 1000 pro vs pb 2000 as both are same price?

My room is 17 X 11 feet with running Onkyo txnr 6050 paired with JBL STADIUM Venue Series floor standing pair and klipsch center and atmos speakers.

Big difference there. The pb2000 has a better amp, larger cabinet. I'm not sure about the controls. The 2000 weighs 66lbs vs 42? If you have the room, the 2000 would be my choice.
If your subwoofer is in a tight or awkward position, the phone app functionality of the Pro series is a Godsend.
I didn't realize how much of a great thing it is until I set up my SB-1000 Pro.
I have a weird, tight corner setup that calls for me to climb behind my wide and low AV cabinet every time I need to make any sort of adjustment to my sub.
The space in the corner where the sub sits barely has enough room for me to stand in it, and even then I also have to tilt the sub over quite a bit to access the control panel since the back of the sub is pretty much just a couple of inches from the wall. And I have to do that climbing in and out procedure for every single adjustment.
With the app, I can make an adjustment and back again if needed from my listening position in a matter of seconds. And it might take a dozen or more adjustments of various parameters to get the settings right. And it's great to be able to do all this, listening for the changes each time from your seat, instead of running back and forth for every single adjustment.
So I can't recommend the Pro series with the phone app enough, especially if your placement is a tight or difficult one.
Another plus is that the app allows you to save three settings. This is great for me as I change between amps periodically and all the adjustments for each amp are already saved.
I only wish they would allow for at least two more slots for saving setting. I actually don't see why they couldn't easily do this.

Shouldn't receiver's sound calibration process (i.e. audyssey) tune the sub for you so you don't really need to regularly change anything?
I'm debating between the PB1000 pro and PB2000 (same price). People are saying that the PB2000 is definitely better, but I'd be losing the app controllability that the Pro has.

I'm not too familiar with the features some receivers may have.
I'm running a two channel preamp and power amp that don't have the calibration features a home theater receiver might have, so my perspective is based on that.

Another vote for the PB-2000. Use the $200 difference on a UMIK-1 and minidsp if your receiver can't tune the sub. I've got a VSX-LX105 with basic MCACC and it did a fairly good job. I had to go in the channel level settings and raise the sub level 0.5dB or so. It sounds awesome.

Buy both and return the one you don't want. That's what I did. I kept the 1000 Pro not only for the app controller, but also the addition of the port plugs for music listening. Also, the 2000 is massive- major eye sore. Although the 1000 is not small, the 2000 is ridiculously big and ugly imo. The 1000 Pro also has plenty of power.
Got me pb1000pro great subwoofer. But I wish I measured how big it is. This thing is huge. I sometimes wish I bought smaller one. I mean this thing huge!!!
Make sure to check dimensions for your space. The ported subs are VERY large.
That being said, I have a PB-1000 and it's incredible. Paired with a second matching sub (or mismatched), it will blow your mind. Such deep, feel it in your chest, lows. Crazy coming from a 10" woofer.
While this is an option, it bothers me. Seems unnecessarily wasteful. IMO, just do more research before ordering. Or go demo them somewhere.

I have a power sound audio S1801. Looking to go with something smaller but still has some oomph. I prefer the sound of sealed enclosures. Any recommendations?

Very broad question with many factors to consider especially your definition of oomph.
You're going to have a hard time without sacrificing some oomph.
I too prefer sealed and run dual SB3000's and are outstanding for such a small footprint!
This is in a dedicated HT room mediumish with one entrance.
Any bigger and or more open you might consider looking at SB4000.

I am late to party and missed pro sales. Currently down between PB2000 and SB2000.
wife likes something small. Is PB2000 sound substantially better than SB2000?
We may put sub down on HT once i frame and finish the basement (15x15x11) in next one year and until then it sits on living room (15x20x11). Either way we arent bass boomers, just need good depth, clarity and little bass on the movies we watch (I like good bass, wife doesnt, wife wins on living room). Very less on loud music, mostly classic/jazz with light music.
New to the HT, too bad, BB doesnt have the models on floor to test. Since you already own 3000, you might know the differences. Any suggestions?

Highly recommend SVS!
I think that is what he is advocating for, "go demo" within your own setup in your own environment!
I would agree, there is no better place to demo.
With SVS's Bill of Rights warranty there is no cost, other than time.
