It was $170 even without buy-now-pay-later (even cheaper if you did the Zip route), and the 6700 XT is only 13% faster [techpowerup.com], but at the price point in this deal, it's much more than 13% more expensive.
I think it's also telling that the 6650 XT deal sold out in hours whereas this deal is still in-stock as of now.
I'd have to check, but I think the ASUS model was 8+6.

Depends on the rest of your system. Draw for the 6700xt will be around 220. I suspect you'll be just fine, but if you're worried, just add up the cpu, fan, lights(?), motherboard, drives, etc.
But, the 6700 is pretty good on draw, so unless you're doing something crazy in the rest of you system you should be good.
with that said, you do need a buffer, so if you add up everything and you're at 600, ehh, that's getting a bit worrisome. easiest way to know is just add it up - all of the power draws of your components are online with a quick search.

Can't vouch for the info, but it's there. Note that the basic ASRock 6700XT is listed there, but this one is different - "Challenger D" ("CLD" on that site). So be careful if the 6-pin is important for you.
(FYI, I had the same concern since my current card is 6pin+8pin, but after looking inside, the connector from my PSU is hybrid: 6pin+2pin, with the 2 hanging.)

Dude, stop substituting my words and then "refuting" them, this is cheap demagogy. Read what the person writes exactly.
So, you started from "AMD is already discounting them" and now wriggling "We may see some more discount".
In simple words: 1. GPU market was overheated last few years with greedy manufacturers and stupid "miners", now it slowly going back to normal. 2. Manufacturers/stores have a lot GPU on warehouses because of prev.point and warehouse work/space cost money, so they interested to sell it out faster than usually. 3. And new gen GPU coming, gosh! 4. AMD always drop prices faster than competitors (and AMD smarter, they got more and more % market in result).
So, yeah, AMD GPU will step by step drop more and more and this is good. Will see more good news from Dec 13
