Biggest benefit imo with this vs openmove or move pro (besides the price) is the usb c charging. The more expensive models use a proprietary magnetic charging cable which you can replace for $13 but is still another cable to carry around.
I love my Aftershokz, but beware this series isn't truly rain/sweat proof. Look at the Aeropex (previous gen)or OpenRun for those.
I were glasses with them without a problem.

I love the idea of bone conduction but need my glasses too. Good deal for runners.

I have used these for a year now. I am not affiliated with the company. I payed about $100.
These are an improved model with BT 5.1 and EQ. I ride a road bike and this allows me to hear surrounding traffic while listening to books. I don't have to worry about ear buds falling out either. I think I will buy another at this price.

Can you hear these externally if you have the music up?

Depends how loud it is. If volume is really high, it sounds very tinny if that makes sense.

These are not silent to people nearby in quiet spaces if you have them cranked up.

I would opt for the openrun if you're going to run because you're going to be sweating and you never know when it will rain.

If you can deal with the extra cable though it's miles better for charging as opposed to prying open the little cover to expose the port, and if you set up the cable nicely, you can easily place it down to charge and pick it up as if it was a dock, plus it comes with two cords which is a nice little touch in case it breaks or you integrate one into a charger setup and still need to take a cord with you on occasion.

Not interested in using them for music, I'm wondering how they are for audibooks, podcasts, etc. Thanks

I had bought a cheaper no-name import brand and the sound was really not good and hard to get a decent volume using the headphones and my cell phone.

Does this model let you hold the volume down / volume up for fast forward / fast backward? The older model you double click the pause button for fast forward, but that's it, no other media controls.
