    ~20 years ago when we did a major house remodel, I did research on which toilet to get among many other things. The last thing you want is to end up with a subpar toilet (not that you can't get a great toilet under $200). I'm the type to to research everything and figure out what's best and for whatever reason settled on Toto Drake toilets back then and have had no regrets.

    Here's one plumber I followed at the time and his current toilet recommendations: https://terrylove.com/crtoilet.htm. He runs a plumbing forum [terrylove.com] where you can probably get more use info on toilet recommendations (including discussion of the CST776 Drake toilet [terrylove.com]).

    There's a reason why you see Toto in many commercial buildings (airports, etc.), they tend be built of higher quality and are more reliable than your big box store variety with Toto being engineered to handle more asses than Johnny Sins
    similar with faucets from a plumbing store which has more brass internals vs the plastic components in big box store models

    I mean it's Toto...the Japanese de facto brand for toilets. I can remember as far back as in the '90s they had the fancy bidet system in Japanese. Of course, I didn't know how it worked when I saw one at my mom's friend's house, pushed the button, and the nozzle started spray all over me while I stood there. My mom was so confused asking if I had pissed all over myself 🤣

    Does anyone know what those toilets are that go BAAAAWHOOOOOOOSH sending anything near the drain including air within 5 ft down without ever clogging are called? They are usually in large stores or rest stops.

    I don't care if it's 5 gallons a flush, I need a serious toilet for serious BMs.

    Yes I'm completely serious. All the ones I've seen retail are trash including this one.

    Used the 1.28gpf model for my recent bathroom remodel. Not a fan of the cefiontech coating. Everything flushes down but if anything sticks to the sides it really sticks. My builder grade 20 year old toilet was easier to clean. The coating seems soft so things embed into it.

    This was my first Toto and I'm disappointed in it. Do not recommend. Or maybe I just got a defective one. Toto is Japanese but my tank was made in Vietnam and the bowl in Mexico.

    I installed the 1.24gpf version of this toilet a couple of months ago. Very pleased. They aren't kidding, it's a tornado flush. The rimless design insures the bowl is completely clean.

    You're looking for something like the Sloan Pressure-assisted toilets, or one of the many other brands with Flushmate pressure assist internals.
