This week isn't very exciting, but last week it was Star Wars: Squadrons and the week before was Evil Dead: The Game. A two year old AAA Star Wars game and a big-ish 2022 release ain't bad. And later this month they're doing the free game a day thing for the holidays. Last year it included some really good stuff. We'll probably get a couple of weeks of trash in the lead up to that.
The free games have looked pretty lame recently. Can't complain though, I have 77 games from them (most of them good) and many hours of enjoyment. Total cost: $0
Kinda random and a little off topic but has anyone seen any info on how the pay out to the dev works on these things on epic games?

Like does it matter if we install and play the game at all or do they just get paid a flat amount when people claim them? I'm happy to download and install the game to play it for a few minutes if doing that gets the dev a bit more money than just claiming the game and never looking at it.

As far as I recall no one knows for sure, but it's theorized that's it's a lump sum. Possibly because in the lawsuit the price paid was called the "buyout price."

More junk, I was like everyone else claiming free games when they come out and then I realize I will never play any of them. I rather buy games on steam than claim them free from Epic. I'm deleting my Epic account with 40 free games to go with it.
I guess you missed out on GTA V, Jurassic World Evolution, Arc Survival and TABS?

Sorry, need to clarify that Star Wars Squadrons was absolutely NOT a AAA game. It was a budget game priced as such at release and only received a moderate amount of post-launch support because of community outcry.

That being said, it's very good for a short single player campaign experience but the multiplayer is largely dead due to balance issues that never got addressed.
