Let's see if they drop this lower for Xmaxxx/New Year's. Would bite for 999, given that Dell offered XPS 8950 for 849 (12700, 3060Ti, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD + 1TB HDD)

Anyone know the future upgrade potential for this model? Easy PSU and vid card upgrade?

Totally agree here and nearly purchased that Dell, but something held my finger off of the mouse...My last two were Dell, and for the price I paid, were good - BUT having limited ability to upgrade sticks in my craw....

Also, since more builds are including 3070s, it makes it harder to balance build-your-own vs prebuilt, especially since GPUs aren't dropping as quickly as we had hoped Smilie

That has the 12700F and DDR4 fwiw. I'd pay the $100 more for this.

agreed, this also seems to have a case with better cooling and a standard power supply for easier upgrades.

I have a 10700 version of this with a 650w standard ps made by FSP. 5.9" wide 5.5" deep 3.4" tall. Not sure how they are getting by with 500w unless serious throttling going on. Even with mine Lenovo throttled the cpu about 15% but it can be reduced to about 5% by changing some settings. Cooling is fine… I sold the video card out of it back when they were going for $1400 and bought another a year later for $400. I know it supports 10.5 inch long cards a as I had my 1080gtx in it for the year. There may been a bit more room than that.

Geez. Does anyone know of any company that does pre-builts that DOESN'T throttle or undervolt? Don't really care about the reason, noise, power, cost cutting, etc. Serious question.

Has 3 sata power and 3 ports left. 6+2 extra gpu cable, 4pin, pci-e 4x, extra m2, solid case, thick glass, lots of fan/vents, solid design. Can remove drive tray to fit a bigger psu I believe. Psu standard 24pin. And the case is aio ready, the top, no need to remove fans

Much better than hp,dell's that are proprietary everything now

NZXT is one, but their pricing isn't as competitive.

Probably not. Manufacturers are incentivized to advertise the flashiest shiniest specs to get more sales, and customers usually don't/won't/can't realize/detect they aren't getting the last 10% of max performance that can usually only be detected on a synthetic benchmark at peak performance levels.

It's not right, and very anti-consumer, since (moreso with laptops) the specs can be misleading. Many cases of i5-1240P's doing better than i7-1260P's, i5-12400H better than i7-12700H, etc. 3070 vs 3060 vs 3060Ti? Depends on the wattage and thermal package of the chassis, etc. etc. So basically the specs only give you a rough ballpark of actual performance, and sometimes systems perform much worse than the specs would lead you to believe, due to thermal constraints or other reasons OEMs don't publicly expose.

anyone have an idea of the RAM config supplied in this? 1 x 16GB or 2 x 8GB? Looks like it is CL40 RAM.

I went with the newegg deal which comes with Core i7-12700KF processor, liquid cooling, 650W gold, 16GB DDR5 4800, 1 TB SSD -- but no other hard drive. It's $1442, but i still think it's better than any of these so far with 500W and F processor.
