Craftsman Pole Hedge Trimmer. This is the "attachment capable" trimmer. It is compatible with other attachments (sold separately). Website shows 229.00, but my local store had it on clearance for 91.57 YMMV
My local Lowe's had a lot of lawn stuff on clearance last week. Didn't see one of these, but there were power washers, collection bags for ride on lawnmowers, some leaf blowers, round-up type products and all the summer/Halloween/fall decor. It'd be a good idea to check it out at your local store.
Why mess around with gas and mixing oil, unless you're using it for commercial use. I'll recommend a battery powered one. The deal itself is great however 😃.

I use the pre-mixed boutique gas. Its more expensive ($20/gal), but it lasts 5 years in can, and 2 years on the machine. I dont have to run dry at end of season, or ever clean carb. Spring comes around, 1 pull and it starts. Totally worth it imo.

It's cheaper than buying enough batteries for larger yards.
I'm sure Craftsman still makes quality products, but I had one of their 2 cycle trimmers and I was very dissatisfied with it. It was a lot of hassle to start and use, which wasted too much of my time (in the hot summer). I always used quality premixed fuel too.
I didn't even try to sell it or give it away because I felt bad for the next person using it.
Ended up getting an Echo and have been very happy since.
I wouldn't even waste my time with another cheap 2 cycle even if it was free.

Hopefully they come out with some good deals on battery powered tools for xmas. Last year I got the koblat trimmer and chainsaw bundle , with a 2.5 amp 40volt for 129 at Lowe's. I can trim about 1000ft on a charge

$20 a gal. ? How long would the gas last if you mixed it yourself ?

with the corn fuel destroying the carb, and most people not knowing that they need to use none ethanol if they want to 2 cycle to last . . . the outcome will be: "I have had a 2 cycle and it was a chore, it cost more to fix, could never start it . . . ."
most people will buy this deal, put regular fuel in mixed with the little 2-c engine oil that is included. use it, and just put it away. 6+ months from now they will try to start it and it would not work. conclusion : i would rather get a battery trimmer and not have to deal with fuel, carb rebuild, starting problems, fuel smell, fuel cost . . . I already have batteries that I use with my drill . . .
plus you add the carb rebuild shop shark practices, and most folks after a single carb shop visit will have no hesitation in switching to battery for good.
at the end of the day the 2 cycle tools are now becoming the tool of the DIY type, and battery is now the tool for the average folk . . . this trend is irreversible and would inevitable lead to the end of the 2 cycle tools for average consumer, and at some point for pro too.

the world runs on MAJORITY. and majority of folks are not going to do that . . . because majority of folks do not even know the difference between the type of fuel in the first place. but what they do know is that 18v battery will not fit into a tool that it was not designed to fit into.
What kind of slick deals guy are you? https://www.pure-gas.org/ to find your local ethanol free station. Works out to be like 1/4 the price of the premix if you do it yourself.

Nothing on that list is near me, but no worries, I've already started drilling for oil, and am currently watching a youtube video on how to build your own refinery with household parts. I will not be stopped!
BTW, I agree completely with the comments above regarding Ethanol leading to carb problems with small gas engines. I have similarly gone the route of buying the $5/quart in a steel can pre-mixed stuff, even though mixing oil with gas is well within my capabilities. I expect that people who use such engines every day or at least monthly will have less problems with this than many of us do.
