I would say tool wise, the Husky one is better for the simple fact that it comes with some 3/8" larger deep sockets, while the Kobalt one comes with none. Tool box wise, I would say the Kobalt one is much nicer and seems more sturdy.
for $10 more you can get 168pc dewalt https://amazon.com/DeWalt-DWMT738...ref=sr_1_4
or $10 less the 142 pc https://amazon.com/DeWalt-DWMT738...r_1_4?th=1
Have this set. Tools have been great. Toolbox itself sucks. Plastic drawers really hard to slide in and out. Whole case is about to fall apart after two years of light use. I've had to pick up many sockets off the floor from the lid latches falling off

143 bits and hex keys and 103 sockets in the kobalt set, 136 bits and 91 sockets in the Husky 270 piece set. It's probably a toss up depending on the exact use case.

lot of crap filler bits in both, but the lowes case doesn't look like complete cheap S.

I perfer Husky branded tools over Kobalt as Home Depot corporate will stick behind their "Lifetime" warranty.
Lowes, they will tell you lies and have you running in circles to advoid fullfilling the Kobalt warranty

Do a quick check on Yelp for your local Lowes. If there are a bunch of complaints about poor customer service your're probably going to be getting the run around when it comes to warranty service.

Currently Harbor Freight and Home Depot have the best tool warrenties.

I've never had issue with lowes honoring kobalt kobalt warranty I have with home depot husky pipe cutter that they discontinued and did nothing for me when blade broke

Walked in with a stripped Phillips head screw driver at lowes. Asked to exchange it, they said go grab another one and out the door I went. Perhaps it's you?

The Kobalt tools look nicer and will be easier to sort as they are color coated. Husky has more tools, more deep sockets and from my limited research Husky weighs in around 35lbs vs 23lbs for Kobalt.

just perusing, other than sharing that all the tool deals this season suck compared to the last two years, this set has zero deep 3/8 and just 3 1/2 sockets (each of sae/metric). I would not consider this for any auto work at all. If that's helpful to anyone.

I'm with you there. Having a set of seep 3/8 sockets is pretty useful. Good catch with that.

Fluffing the set count with bits is pretty disingenuous lol.

I remember getting this a couple years ago on a price mistake for half this price. The tools are really good but the case is very cheap
