Just an FYI….I ordered (2) of these and my local Walmart didn't have these 25 foot ones in stock and instead they substituted them with the 50 foot ones for $1 more……YMMV……
is it because one is green and the other is orange?

For 16AWG shouldn't go very long but imo 50ft is reasonable. Can use long cable when you don't need the extra length but you cannot use short cable when it doesn't reach where you need. The extra length doesn't hurt as much, but too short just doesn't work.
could this handle a ge upright freezer or a large refrigerator?
Check the power ratings of the device. 16ga is good for 10a or so, at 120v that's 1200w. I probably wouldn't run more than 1100w because there is no fuse in this and the circuit breaker is likely 15a or 20a and not actually 10a so it won't protect the wire from melting.

That's because the 50 ft ones are $1 more. That's what they show at my Walmart. But oos now
Got one of these for some LED lights outside and the plug is a little loose. My light spades wiggle just a tad and they are basically hanging straight down into the extension socket from the wall. Should I worry about water getting in? Maybe cover the area where they connect with tape? Not sure how sensitive these are and it's my first time having something plugged in outdoors

$10 / 25ft = 0.4 $/ft
$14 / 50ft = 0.28 $/ft
