Yeah the prices have gone through the roof. For a while there, their omelettes were bumped up to like $16-$18, but guess even they realized it was ludicrous to pay as much for an omelette as a ribeye.

Agreed, but my comment meant more for the people that buy cards and hang onto them for a while which is a large percentage of folks. How many of us have unused gift cards hanging around from last year? I know I still have quite a few.

Yes, but you'd also have the option to NOT buy the $20 omelette and decide to make your own omelette. The point is the intrinsic value of the gift card decreases with inflation.This is basic economics.
