For $299 I thought this was a great deal for the specs. Bought with a redcard it's even less.
I just grabbed 2 of them.

Picked it up this afternoon. Nice overall, screen manufacturer|device ID is CMN1538 Innolux IPS panel. Backlit keyboard is very nice with two levels of brightness control and off state. Will add 8gb stick, upgrade wifi to Intel 6 and swap drive for 1TB that I bought earlier. Will post pics once I get it opened. converted to Win 11 home with no issues. came with F21 latest bios installed.
Thanks appreciate it. However I successfully upgraded wireless card to Intel AX210NGW. Added 8GB memory and upgraded drive to 500GB NVME drive that I had around. The first picture is as configured from factory. The other two are after upgrades installed.
This is the "better" 4 core i3, if that matters to anyone.

Thanks, someone mentioned a $17 8GB chip at Newegg that was a good match for the empty slot in this laptop so I was looking for a link
Shipped from China. I did see it, not recommending it. Get the Silicon Power from Amazon and be done with it - IMO

Picked one of these up for my father, will be adding the $20 extra stick of ram and a spare 1tb nvme drive I have sitting around.

Overall, this thing is shockingly capable for $300. The included Wi-Fi card is a bit disappointing (maxing out at ~70mbps down on an AX router while even a 2015 MacBook Pro manages ~250) but I am forcing myself to remember my folks have 50 mbps internet… its fine..

Does the USB C port support PD-C?
Sorr for the delay, wasn't sure I had a C to C cable. Just tested it and the port did charge my Fire tablet.

Now do we know if the USB C port will charge the laptop?

Sorry not very knowledgeable about laptops but how does this compare to this one?
https://www.target.com/p/lenovo-1...A-86976503

Looks like this HP is IPS while the Lenovo is TN. How about the other specs? TIA!

For any kind of gaming, I would want something with a better processor and discrete GPU. I got this laptop for productivity work (office use) and for that, it is a great laptop at such a low price point. Even after upgrading to a bigger faster SSD, wifi6, & adding an additional 8gb of memory (all for under $100) this is working out cheaper than some of the more recent deals on here. Two thumbs up for this laptop!

That CPU is difficult to compare directly with the i3-1125G4 as simply more cores since the cores in question are of two different types. The newer i3-1215U will be arguably more efficient but only carries two i-series cores along with four Atom-based e-cores. The i3-1125G4 in this deal is a more traditional four i-series cores design. The 11th generation design has a long track record (even 4th generation and earlier 4-core i-series CPU computers prove useful as productivity machines). At the same time, depending upon your use case and continued optimizations, the newer big.little CPU could indeed prove more powerful.

Note that historically the best Slickdeals for laptops like the one in this listing were around $250 so I'd consider this listing a solid price.

Good luck!
Jon

Thank you for the detailed information.

I always amazed with Lenovo with similar configurations when it compared with HP and Dell Laptops. Below one have similar configuration except with additional Touch screen and no IPS screen with $20 less. Can you please let me know which one is better buy?

I've been trying to compare these two for my 10 year old as well. Best I can find is that the BestBuy processor appears to be two cores vs 4. Also the screen is lower resolution. My BestBuy says they have this model on display so I do plan on checking it out later this week, I think she'd get a kick out of the touch screen for drawing but does play Minecraft and Roblox, so I may go with the target laptop for the additional processing power if my research is correct.

The i3-1115G4 CPU in that Lenovo is fine enough as a dual-core i-series, putting it head and shoulders above any Atom-based CPU system at lower prices. However, plenty of four core i series CPU laptops have appeared at comparable prices (like the Target offer here) and lower and present a much better long-term investment as a productivity laptop.

The i3-1125G4 with four i-series cores as in the HP in this Target deal is my favorite sleeper CPU in this category. This i3 is an i5 in all but name, though without the more advanced Xe graphics of the typically pricier i5-1135G7 model.

Good luck!

How does this laptop compare to this one from Office Depot?

https://slickdeals.net/f/16271239-lenovo-ideapad-3i-laptop-15-6-1080p-i5-1135g7-8gb-ram-512gb-ssd-380-free-shipping-office-depot

I know the office Depot one is more expensive, but it's i5 instead of i3 and is 512 ssd vs 256 ssd.

Thanks in advance for the advice...trying to decide on which one to get my wife for Christmas (she only uses it to browse the internet, check emails, watch YouTube videos, etc., nothing fancy)
