for me, this would amount to about a $15 savings total so honestly, just too many hurdles to jump thru. i thought it was a traditional amex offer but i don't have anything on any of my cards. not using another app.

Bad experience with Upside.

I signed up 2 months back through a referral. Followed all the steps like adding the offer, providing last 4 or 5 digits of the card and then filled the gas at Shell. They took about 15 days to process the receipt and then said I'm not qualified for the cashback. I didn't even think of submitting a ticket. Waste of time.

Current user of Upside, don't even have an Amex card, and it worked for me. Stacked with the other promo codes I've currently got. Lifetime earnings of $451.21 so far in about 2 years. Not too shabby.

So signed up - Kroger gas is NOT included - deleted app.

Let me share my experience with these cashback stuff when it comes to gas - when ever these gas companies institute these cashback/rebate stuff (whether its for gas/engine oil/engine additives) they see huge demand destruction in the pipeline. That means gas prices will fall, in a free market system. Since we are not in a free market system, with greedy corporations at the helm, they will just cut production, or better yet find reasons to cut production and will continue to keep prices high. We are suckers for falling for these pittance crumb savings.

Nice, thanks OP. I do find half the time the app doesn't register my gas fillups and I have to manually request the cashback, but I've still gotten close to $30 back since signing up a few months ago. I usually stack it with discounts I get through the free Shell FuelRewards program.

First time heard this app. I see only a few gas stations around in the app, when I click claim, I have 4 hours before this offer expires. The gas price after cashback is indeed $0.50 lower, but how does cashback work? Would the app do a partial refund to my amex card? or just earn points for use next time?

Had to add code AMEX35 manually because QR code caused an error.
Also added an AMEX card in Upside app to my already existing Visa.
Rules don't state that you have to use the AMEX card to get the 35 cents a gallon back. What do you think... can I use my 3% Visa and still get it?
