You seen pricing on that yet? Curious if they will keep the same price point and drop the u8h or keep u8h where it is and go up for the u8k.
They try to keep the U8 65" at $1000 or less, not sure if inflation will impact that. It didn't in 2022 though.
They said all series (U6, U7, U8) are getting mini LED & size variants up to 85". I would imagine the 75" U8K would probably be $1500-1600 & 85" $2000 or more.
If they can keep the typical picture quality of U8 series & an 85" is around $2000, I might have to jump at that. I was thinking maybe 65" S95C QD-OLED next year to replace my 65" U8G, but an 85" U8 series with an improved SOC/processing might be the better pick at that price. It won't beat the QD-OLED on picture quality, but 20" of extra screen real estate matters too,

FWIW the list price/MSRP of the 65" is $1500 at Best Buy and Amazon. You are correct though that it's usually on sale but I have seen times when it's not.

i thought i was reading 8k was such a flop the manufacturers were moving away from it???
hard to imagine a less exciting improvement. i remember my first 32" 720p tv was amazing compared to SD CRT. 1080p way less. 1080p to 4k i barely noticed! granted iirc that was at the 55" size and i'm now at 65 looking to go to 75.
heck most videogames (my main tv use) dont even render internally at 4k. it's like 120hz, when most game makers havent mastered a solid locked 60 fps yet.
totally off topic now but i'm always amazed how much box sizes have come down as they slimmed wasteful packaging. i guarantee the box my original 32" hdtv came in rivaled 55" tv boxes today if not even bigger. Granted that model had sizable built in speakers on the flanks back in those days.

2023 model name is U8K, but it's a 4K TV. The 8K doesn't have anything to do with picture resolution.

I cant say I have ever seen a person not notice 4K HDR on a higher end TV versus 1080P
