I buy from Best Buy with these kinds of products. I use my mouse for both work and play. I go through a mouse every 2 years or so. Their warranty for $15 is pretty much no questions asked if there's any defect at all and within 2 years you can either get the same one (and razer will usually still sell this for the next 5-10 years anyways) OR store credit for me to use this $60 for another mouse with warranty again. So I'll get at least 4 years of use from one payment of pretty much 120-125% of the cost of the product, and that is even if the product lasts 2 years. Pair this with some best buy gift cards with 5-10% off and that might bring it down to $5 for that warranty. I always have problems with these razer mouse at around the 1.5 year mark or so.

FYI: The warranty is roughly about 30% of the cost of the product.
Just a heads up, micro USB.
It might be an unpopular opinion, but replaceable batteries are superior to built in batteries in most things. In a mouse like this a single rechargable AA lasts months, and can be changed in seconds.

Having built in batteries that are guaranteed to go bad and render the whole device landfill at some point feels like planned obsolescence.

I had this mouse. This is garbage because
1. Oxidation of Charging parts: Charging doesn't work properly unless you clean the surface.
2. Rubber grip melts: It melts even if you don't use it.

That's why the new version of this mouse is released.
Razer Viper V2 Pro.

Just put most grip tape on it. It has much better grip anyways. I put BTL grip tape on mine 2 years ago when I bought it, and it still looks brand new. I have had to deal with the oxidation on the contacts, though. I've had to clean in twice in the two years that I've owned it. 30 seconds with some isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip, and it charges like new again. Overall, I've been incredibly happy with the mouse. OpenRGB supports this mouse, as well, so I was able to get rid of Razer's terrible RGB software
One downside that you didn't mention is that Razer's Synapse software has to be running at all times to keep the RGB set to anything but unicorn puke or off. Thankfully, OpenRGB supports this mouse, so I was able to get rid of Synapse. The people developing OpenRGB are saints for us gamers.

G Pro Super Light is much better than this one except double click issue. You can compare with Razer Viper V2 Pro. Razer Viper V2 Pro has been released against G Pro Super Light.
Old model: Razer Viper Ultimate
Newer model: Razer Viper V2 Pro.

I witched to Razer because I wanted to try something new. And everybody knows RGB gives you 10% FPS boost. I got a keyboard a mouse and a headset. All top of the line products with good reviews at the time of the acquisition. All 3 of them developed problems within a year and 1/2. Keyboard is double typing, mouse won't charge 10% of the time and headphones dongle just stopped working completely.

So I would agree with the guy saying getting an extended coverage is not a bad idea

My Razer mouse just failed after only 1.5 years. I bought from Best Buy (not BB via ebay) and Razer is refusing to honor the warranty because it's not an authorized retailer. I get it if I buy from some gray market site, but it's a major US retailer. This is the first time I've ever had a mouse just quit working. Recommend you just avoid Razer.

Hot garbage. I've been a Razer fan since my Copperhead... but this is the worst. Spent a week trying to get it charge before sending it back. I think R.A.T. products are superior at this point.
yeah, my first mouse wouldn't even charge the first time and I didn't notice until after a few months since it was just a backup mouse. they replaced it with warranty though, and the 2nd one has worked perfectly and is quite good as my backup to logitech superlight

Amazon has 3 yr warranty for $8 vs $15 @ BB for only 2 years!

if you can remember to plug it in once a month, it's not a problem. i've used mice with built in batteries for about 15 years now. starting with the logitech mx performance. i never ran out of batteries while using my computer, even while working from home then gaming 10 hours a day.

HAVING SAID THAT, these mice are trash, as some razer fans noted in this thread. i was never a fan but i got a viper 2 pro when it was on sale. and it is terrible. the tracking is not consistent. the side buttons are designed for 7 year olds with extra small hands. i gave up trying to use the lower side button completely because my thump can't bend down enough. it's not just the location that's the problem, it's also the angle of the buttons. razer mice also have software in their dongles that keeps asking you to install it.

i can't say enough bad things about this mouse.

I bought this mouse for the same price and returned it. I did not enjoy it at all and didn't think it was worth the price. That's my experience, but I am also someone with bigger hands so take that for what it's worth

I've never tried amazon warranty. How good is it? And you're not talking about the 3rd party one right?

Warranty is worthless here, mouse broke after a year and they refused to do anything about it. This is plastic cheap junk
